  1. You definitely need to play hardball. It was a risk leaving for Sweden without having something formal in place before you left. The police are used to dealing with stuff like this and the fact you've already reported stuff will stand you in good stead. As @tommy dee said, get in touch with your lawyer pronto, before you come back.
  2. I have that exact same record with cover - it's an EP . . . It was more expensive than the standard price of 6s 8d, because it was an EP, but don't remember how much.. Got a few Beatles singles on Parlophone - they were 6s 8d as you say, 3 for a quid. I have all my stuff from storage being delivered to where I'm staying on August 10th, my record collection included. Looking forward to going through it all.
  3. What's good enough for Trump . . . . 😩
  4. She looks like a professional referee with those white gloves on. With the World Snooker Championship starting soon you might lose her to The Crucible Phil. She'd be much better than those stuffy Mr No Personalities they normally have . . .
  5. Very nice Phil I must say . . . . Look forward to making her acquaintance . . . . Congrats on West Brom too mate - it was real twitchy bum time for a while though . . .
  6. Great quote in The Sun today, by Mark Irwin. The piece is about Premier Clubs that are lumbered with "costly flops". Obviously Ozil comes up, Irwin's quote being "Prince Andrew has probably sweated more than the former German superstar, who is doing his minimum to fulfil his contractual obligations. Virtually every penny which Arsenal made from the Europa League this season will go into Ozil's pockets". Made me laugh with the first part but the 2nd sentence is mind boggling.
  7. I have first hand experience of this. You may have read my posts in other threads concerning my mother, who sadly passed away mid April. She had major stroke at home on March 27th and was taken to the local hospital and put into the Stroke Ward. They administered drugs in an attempt to disperse the clot(s), which failed. After 3 days they informed me that there was nothing more they could do for her and they were looking to transfer her to a care home to free the bed. We'd agreed at that point that she was to be put on end of life care. I asked if she'd been tested for Covid and if not would they test her before she was moved to the care home? The answer was "no" on both counts. I found that incredible. In the end it didn't matter as she deteriorated still further and passed away after 4 days before the move could take place.
  8. Couldn't agree more. I love looking at my old singles, but currently don't have a deck to play them on. The pride of my single collection is a picture cover of The Beatles Twist and Shout EP. My dad (who died 25 years ago) was into Al Jolson in a big way and when my mum recently passed away and going through the house and found their old records as well as my Grandma's, who was a real dancer in her day. These are obviously 78's and as heavy as hell. Have catalogued them all, some a worth a few quid as very rare.
  9. A great song in Deep Purple's later years and very apt . . .
  10. When I moved to Thailand I decided to sell all my vinyl albums. I had a decent collection, possibly about 80. By googling I found some shop/collector in Reading I believe. I sent him the full list, he drove to Bedford, where I was working at the time and he bought the lot - just shy of £1k. There was nothing particularly valuable individually, but as he loaded them in the car I did feel sad. First album I bought was "Very 'Eavy, Very 'Umble" by Uriah Heep. I decided to keep all my singles for posterity sake. Love my collection, loads of Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks and Hollies. First single I bought was Johnny Kidd and the Pirates - I'll Never Get Over You". When I first bought singles they were 6s 8d - exactly 3 for a quid. I'm one of those guys where a song will really put me in a place in my history. Great memories, hence why I'm keeping them.
  11. I, Britboy, of the United Kingdom, and of sound(ish) mind and sound(ish) body, 2nd that motion . . .
  12. That's the Agent I use too. There's a reason I had to go into Bangkok Bank. Under normal circumstances you wouldn't have to (like yourself), just having to go into the Immigration Office for 2 mins to have your picture taken. This thread is in the general section, it may be safer if I gave the full explanation in the VIP section to minimise risk. But I have a feeling I explained it to Jambo in Le Pub . . . .
  13. Great reply Grayray, made me smile . . . And nope, I'm not one of those blokes that fall in love. Never been anywhere close to doing that with a bargirl. Like, ogle, fondle, fancy, f**k, lust after - all a big yes. Love - not a chance. Of course we only lose our turn in the queue and I think it's hilarious what you did. Going back a few years I must admit I got up to similar antics. Like one night in Hua Hin there were 3 of us on a 10-day stint. We always tried to spice things up, make it a laugh, so one night one of the guys issued a challenge. He bet we couldn't find 2 girls that we could "swap", i.e. I screw one, other mate screw the other, then immediately swap over and screw each others. If we succeeded he'd cover the barfines, what we paid the girls and an extra tip for the girls for going along with it. He gave us an hour to find the 2 girls. I thought for a millisecond and accepted. The other mate was a bit hesitant, but I told him I know just who to go to, so the bet was on. We were in Soi Bintabaht, which is the square block of bars in the centre of Hua Hin. The 3 of us were drinking in a bar called Moonlight. I just knew which girl to go to, in a bar on the opposite side of the square, so my mate started the stop-watch and off I went. I'd known this girl for ages in this other bar, but never been with her. She was reasonably pretty, not one I would normally choose and I'd never barfined her, despite her attempts to persuade me. I knew she'd be up for it - and she was. I told her the bet, told her there'd be some good money in it for her and to choose a nice mate, whether working in her bar or elsewhere. Her best mate worked in the next door bar, she went there and came back 2 minutes later with a big smile on her face and the other girl. I bought them both a drink, paid the barfines and was back with my mates within 20 minutes. Back at the hotel it worked perfectly, as this other mate and I had adjoining rooms and therefore an adjoining door. Nothing spectacular about the bedroom activities, but we did it, changing over via the adjoining door after about 30 minutes. The mate who set the bet was sitting outside on my balcony having a couple of beers. Great fun, my mate paid up and the girls were happy. They had fun too and walked away with 5,000 baht each, all paid for by our mate. Every time I've been in this girl's bar since it's mentioned and she always offers a re-run.
  14. Crikey Grayray, that would be a great laugh, but pushing things a bit. Not sure how I'd react if I'd been buying some hottie a few ladydrinks and she got up to have some other bloke stick their finger up her kyber . . . It would probably be checkbin time for me. You were lucky not to get a fist come your way . . . When you say some of the blokes were not well pleased, what did they do?
  15. Have always liked TQ, but in recent times the line-up has been poor. Great if it's now improved. But then again we may well have different taste . . . 😉
  16. Thanks Phil. I recognise more than a few of those faces . . . 😉 Looks like Bee has let a sheep shearer loose on his head . . . .
  17. Trying to explain how to do an egg like that in a restaurant I've found really tough. If there's a pic in the menu showing an egg like that, not so bad. If there isn't, I've had some amazing results. The closest I guess is the American saying of over easy, "easy" being the critical word. Most times it comes hard cooked . . . 😆
  18. That's a perfect egg - just how I like them done too . . . That looks great - I've had nothing to eat this morning yet, just 3 cups of decaff coffee. It's prompted me to have a great British fry up for lunch . .
  19. Hi Jambo, My advice is use an Agent. The good ones can by-pass all sorts of crap you might encounter. Sure, it'll cost some baht, but the time and hassle it can save it's well worth it. I believe I pm'd you the contact details of the Agent I used to get my retirement visa last October. They did brilliantly. All I had to do was go into the Bangkok Bank near the immigration office with one of the Agent's staff, then walking past all the queues at Immigration to an office, two minutes to take a pic and I was out of there. If I recall I pm'd you my Agent's details . . . I'm still in UK with my retirement visa expiring end of October. Due to the travel restrictions it's looking unlikely it'll be possible to return before then. I've emailed them, they replied saying "no problem if you can't get back because of travel restrictions, we'll just get you a new one when you can return". Good luck, whichever you decide to do.
  20. I was really sad to hear this news - his music for those westerns you mention was brilliant and years ahead of it's time. Couldn't resist digging some out - some of my favourite scenes with brilliant music in all of them. Music aside, I just love the actual ending of For A Few Dollars More. Great partnership was Clint with Lee Van Cleef. "Any trouble boy?" . . . . And the music in the section below in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly still gives me the tingles. Music starts about 1 min in . . .
  21. Yeah, come on @misteregg, let's have an update and some pics of your lovely ladies that I won't want to socially distance from . . .
  22. The 3rd person appearing in that video looks like the German suspect in the Maddie case . . .
  23. I find it ludicrous that UK don't have Thailand on the quarantine exempt list, bearing mind the number of new infections and deaths in Thailand, compared to say Spain (15 deaths today) and Italy, (17 deaths today). Also Dubai, or more correctly UAE, with no deaths reported today and only 317 in total. I have a couple of mates living in Dubai who were planning to come back on July 10th, but obviously won't now. While I'm a Tory through and through, the government's handling of the whole travel/quarantine issue throughout this entire lockdown has been worse than pathetic. It's an utter shambles and while I loathe that little ginger haired woman north of the border she was quite right today to call the UK government's handling of this issue shambolic. The Welsh first minister said exactly the same.
  24. My two favourite Rolling Stones tracks, apart from some of the really early ones . . .
