  1. Omdat je op een Nederlands ingesteld systeem werkt, kan ik totaal niet tegen. Ooops, English translation (I automatically reply in the same language if possible): Because you are working on a system which is set to work in Dutch, something I really can't stand (because of bad translations).
  2. Using sulfuric acid some of the concrete gets converted to gypsum, but superfluous acid gets rinsed of very thoroughly. Even so, I would be very careful with all kinds of acid (including vinegar) when working with concrete and cement.
  3. Might be too close by, I would recommend selecting one at a safe distance.
  4. Don't use acid, it will dissolve the concrete.
  5. I looked up the schedule and saw it was flown by Thai Vietjet Air, a VietJet Air subsidiary (with a Thai licence).
  6. Glad the both of you had a good night out. I can't say I ever heard of this band or any of their songs, but that seems to be my problem. My favourite rock and roll band is a Dutch band from the sixties with hits like Radar Love, Twilight Zone and When The Lady Smiles.
  7. Are those planes staying overnight at U-Tapao or are they coming in from somewhere else before the flight to Sai Gon and going somewhere else after the flight from Sai Gon? EDIT: Looked it up and it is a Thai airline, with planes based at U-Tapao. As such the times make much more sense. EDIT2: Shame they don't have flights from Ha Noi to U-Tapao (yet), might be interested.
  8. The location needs some compensation, which was provided by the forum.
  9. I'd say that is rather unlikely with the sea so near. Besides that, the first ones should have been found by now (not all bodies end up at the deepest point).
  10. With Scooters out of the picture and the hotel being renamed, I can only recommend to the new owners to start a forum for the business and get a good host for the bar. Those are the things that brought in customers in the past as it isn't in a location where many people pass by.
  11. Thanks, that info might come in handy, I am the only one here at home without a Vietnamese passport 😉
  12. Even better location, the whole of Soi Diamond within crawling distance. In the 1990s I used to be a regular guest there with Starlight Beer Bar (right across the soi) being my favourite bar.
  13. Ever stayed in the Diamond Beach Hotel?
  14. And changed management. And without the bar downstairs the location isn't that good either.
  15. Shame, it was a good place in a good location.
  16. I still don't get why you British are so excited about the new French Navy Blue passports.
  17. That Big Buddha is impressive, but somehow I prefer that Chinese temple just below.
  18. I really dislike the user interface (not logical to me) and I think it is way overpriced. Besides that, I got out of the church of St. Jobs about 25 years ago and am allergic to religious zealotry.
  19. I sure do. And my Chinese wife was also crap, replaced her with a Vietnamese one 😉
  20. Quoting because it isn't mine but I think some here will appreciate it.
  21. For those interested in more Y2K stories, The Register is running a couple of them.
  22. Proper desalination plants will deliver potable water, so will also cover cooking.
  23. Next time try that with Vietnamese Dong 😉
