  1. Google Translate says the top line is "service is available" bottom line is "parking". Odd about thing about the Thai language is it takes the same number of characters to spell out three words compared to the one word "parking".
  2. Good interview of one lady's perspective of life in the sex industry.
  3. You sure about that John? It's next to 808, but the bar is called Candy Shop. You can just barely make out the candy cane colored letters in my pic.
  4. PA has a long running topic on Noi as well. First post was Feb 2013. Most recent post was last Tuesday noting it was her 42nd b'day.
  5. Think you're correct. I saw the place, and the statues on my ride this morning, but forgot this was still unsolved. As a wise mod recently told me...
  6. I need to get off my bike more. On this morning's ride I was checking the possible spots for Mr. Dino, T21 being one of them, and totally missed seeing the fenced off area. In my defense the fence was camouflaged.
  7. The building next to the 747 now has a name. Club K which I'm guessing with be a night club. Assuming this is the main entrance, it's a bit odd as there's only what looks like a service door. Instead the customers upon entering hang a left and will have to proceed around the building's corner to get to the actual entrance. The white protective covering is over what looks like two way mirror glass. Maybe someone with knowledge of fire codes can comment, but it seems to me there doesn't appear to be large enough, nor numerous enough doors for customers to use in case of an emergency. Besides the above doors, the only other doors are the two in the back. And another two on the north facing side.
  8. You can also hover the cursor over the link to view where it would take you if you were to click on it. Chances are if it's a scam the URL at the beginning of the link will not be a Wise site, but one that is similar in spelling and/or has a domain name ending in something other than .com, which is what Wise uses.
  9. You were a bit earlier than me. Photo was snapped at 11:11:58 am.
  10. Thought this might be an easy one for you. As you're a mod I'll cut you some slack on the hotel name. Edited to add: Would you edit the topic title to add " - Solved: Debua". Thanks.
  11. Back at you @john luke and other BM's. Where was I this morning?
  12. The distinctive background is a giveaway. Bling Club on Buakhao.
  13. On a positive note it was the plural form of motorcycle for the five little ones.
  14. Still quite possible with the current uncertainty in the world. All it will take is one of the global hotspots to kick off and start the stampede to the USD as a "safe haven". For the sake of all the innocent lives that might be lost, I hope we don't see it happen. I'd much prefer a strong $ based on a strong economy.
  15. A tragedy that could have been avoided. First call warning the police of the crush of people came in about 3 1/2 hours before the deadly crowd surge. Multiple calls after that first call warning of the impending tragedy. Families of Halloween crush victims identify lost items as South Korean police admit mistakes ... Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Yoon Hee-keun, head of National Police Agency, bowed deeply as he began a press conference, admitting for the first time failings on the behalf of the police in the capital that night. Yoon said officers failed to adequately respond to the emergency calls that flooded into the police call center before the disaster. “The calls were about emergencies telling the danger and urgency of the situation that large crowds had gathered before the accident occurred,” Yoon said. “However, we think the police response to the 112 (emergency telephone number) calls was inadequate.” South Korean police received at least 11 calls from people in Itaewon about concerns of a possible crush as early as four hours before the incident occurred on Saturday night, records given to CNN by the National Police Agency show. The first call was made at 6:34 p.m. Saturday from a location near the Hamilton Hotel, which borders the alley where the deadly surge occurred, the records show. “People are going up and down the alley now, but it looks really dangerous. People can’t come down but people keep coming up (the alleyway), so I fear people might be crushed,” one caller said, according to the record. “I managed to get out, but it’s too crowded. I think you need to control this. Nobody is controlling (the crowd). I think police officers should be standing here and moving some people so that others can go through the alleyway. People cannot even go through but there are more people pouring down,” the caller added. Then at 8:09 p.m., another person in Itaewon reported that there were so many people in the area that they were falling over and getting hurt. The caller asked for traffic control, the record shows. The deadly crowd surge took place just after 10 p.m. ...
  16. Noticed that too after the rains last week there was a lot of water left standing on the road surface due to the drains being at a higher elevation. On a positive note they at least made the drains flush with the road surface.
  17. Amazing what those "make me look older" filters can do.
  18. ^^^ According to the deputy mayor, they'll be done end of November. If they meet that deadline, published end of September, it would be the first time I've ever seen a public works project deadline met. With the entire month of November still to come, they just might make it. Power pole removal project on Pattaya Central Road will be completed in November 2022, deputy mayor says
  19. Looks like they ferry the passengers to the pier on smaller boats. Here's an article on the ships arrival on the 24th. First cruise ship in three years docks in Phuket today The first cruise ship to arrive in Thailand in three years docked at the Patong pier in Phuket today (Monday), to allow about 800 passengers to come ashore for a one-day sightseeing excusion. Phuket Governor Narong Woonsiew and head of the Phuket office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Nanthasiri Ronnasiri, boarded the ship, Spectrum of the Sea, to welcome the passengers. The ship, which had arrived from Singapore, is carrying over4,500 passengers of 55 nationalities, but most are from Singapore, Malaysia, India, the Philippines and Indonesia. Nanthasiri said that this is the first cruise ship to arrive in Phuket after three years of COVID-19, adding that the arrival of cruise ships and yachts will help boost tourism in Phuket,as most of the passengers have high purchasing power. In 2019, before the COVID-19 outbreak, 154 cruise ships, carrying 485,598 passengers, docked in Phuket.
  20. Rather than go OT on the go-go, bars topic created a new topic to reply to your post. Like you I enjoy drinks and a few games of pool or connect 4 with the bar girls, but rarely BF nowadays. One big reason is with the advancing years I find morning hours easier to enjoy a session in the room than a night time romp. So for me I get much better value for money spent with morning massages and finishing with FS. It takes some time, but I've found a couple of ladies that give both a great massage and a good root. Usual cost is 250-300 for the massage and 1000 to the lady for additional stress relief services. On the rare occasion I ST from a beer bar, or GC, I have at most 3 rounds of drinks with the lady, so 450 for LD's. BF is 400-500 and 1000-1500 to the lady. You mentioned a BF of 1500. As your post referred to beer bars, that's quite a bit higher than the norm. So probably knock 1000 off your final total of 3750. But then again comparing beer bar pricing and quality to an escort service is not a fair comparison. Perhaps go go pricing to an escort, in which case drinks and BF for a go go quality lady would probably exceed the cost of an escort. For myself, I've never used an escort service or social media like TF for a hook up as personality more than looks makes for a better time in the room. With all the filters in use, looks on a website or TF account can be deceiving, and there's no way to gauge personality. So I'll stick with the in person interview over drinks and a game of pool.
