  1. Nice glass of mulled wine (Sainsbury's). Yeah yeah I know it's not the season but it's going down an absolute treat and I am just about to get some more on the go.
  2. I know a few guys who worked for Airwork in Oman - BIg Rich, Pete, Mark, Niel etc
  3. Trying to get my head around doing a night shift tonight. First one for about 9 months (after I said I would stop working them 🙄).
  4. I am not so bad with the heat but like just about everyone the humidity I find uncomfortable. Over the years I have found the best way for me to deal with it is not to try and fight it. Slow down, get acclimatised, use fans during the day etc.
  5. Absolutely 😁 But they're not in power so it's pointless. As is going down the "what aboutary" or leavers v remoaners, right v looney left roads. We have the governments who we voted for and IMHO we should hold them to account when they f**k up. It's a fundamental right in a free society.
  6. The guy who resigned was an MP. Edit, sorry is an MP still, he resigned from the cabinet.
  7. If only there were more MPs who believed in honour and integrity. Quote from BBC Mr Ross, who remains Conservative MP for Moray, said: "While the intentions may have been well meaning, the reaction to this news shows that Mr Cummings' interpretation of the government advice was not shared by the vast majority of people who have done as the government asked. "I have constituents who didn't get to say goodbye to loved ones; families who could not mourn together; people who didn't visit sick relatives because they followed the guidance of the government. "I cannot in good faith tell them they were all wrong and one senior adviser to the government was right." If DC would of held up his hands and said I f***d up to protect my family, I am sorry, here is my resignation. He just might of earned a bit of respect and would more than likely be back playing Rod Hull to bojo's emu within a couple of months. Instead of that we have had 4 days of bollocks when there really are way more important things to focus on.
  8. Getting ready to move the barge I am looking after. Been moored up for the last 3 months so it needs water and the shit tank cleaning. Quite excited TBH 😆
  9. Rightly so when you consider the Prof didn't have Covid 19 when he broke lockdown, unlike the Prime minister's closest advisor when he traveled all the way from London to Durham ffs. Don't forget the timeline, millions of people managed to make sacrifices and follow the guidelines. Might sound contradictory but speaking as a father, if he did what he thought was best for his family then fair fucks to him. Still think he should do the decent thing and resign. He could be back in favour in 3 months .....
  10. There is nowhere I would rather be than in the village right now BUT I know exactly what you are going through mate. Hang in there, it won't be for much longer - don't waste your time, energy and sanity with shit you can't change. 😇😇😇
  11. Perhaps if Lord Ashcroft paid his taxes in UK rather than hiding behind shell companies in tax havens like Belize, he might not be such a smug self serving twat.
  12. I am about 7 miles away from Bistern and half a mile from the Stour at the moment 😀 Wish I was back in the village though, this is coming close to the longest period of time I have been away from the family for the last 12 years.
  13. The park was closed due to Covid 19 restrictions, she should not have been there.
  14. Sorry for your loss Britboy. Thanks for taking the time to post. 😀
  15. Better ask some other BMs mate 😉
  16. No cheap shots, it's not an easy job, he has difficult decisions to make and he is doing his best. Kind of things you say about 9 year kids when they're playing football, not in relation to world leaders and heads of state. Yeah fill your boots Esco, even that leftie, tree hugging, knit your own yoghurt, communist rag the Daily Mail is apparently having a pop today.
  17. Ask someone who works on the frontline in the UK what their opinion of the situation is. I have a junior doctor and a retired doctor who has returned to work during the crisis in my family along with a neighbour who is a care worker. It's the bullshit promises on PPE and testing numbers they have gone from being frustrated to getting angry about. I agree the crisis should not be politicised, however the only way that can be achieved is through transparency and setting achievable goals. Pushing a 3 week old story in the media about an advisor breaking the lockdown on a tragic day when it's revealed the UK has recorded over 30,000 deaths is simply a diversion tactic and an insult to the NHS.
  18. It's almost unbelievable to me how easy a ride the UK government have had from the media and I think many people are pissed off and starting to get angry about it.
  19. Sun rise on the Avon and Kennet canal just outside Hungerford this morning.
  20. Grand Tour I saw the last episode of series 3 last night, was all about the Ford Cortina and I really enjoyed it. Haven't watched any of the shows in chronological order to be honest but I don't actually think it matters. The trip they do in Cambodia is well worth a look see.

    So why?

Only ever see it on Thailand forums or repeats of Alan Partridge but for some reason the use of "methinks" grits my shit.
