  1. Looks a bit gloomy. But good choice with the blackout curtains. Light coloured floor tiles are my choice.
  2. Good luck with that. We hear that the liver has good healing capabilities, but always good to get some test results.
  3. Thats what i've just done now. Google came up with the priced flights and i booked with Jetstar. One way - i like flexibility.
  4. Some of my very best days have started off badly. I expect by now the power's back on and the Sato disaster is just a distant memory of a warm, slightly too tastable beverage. Might be adviseable to buy a lottery ticket now things are looking up.
  5. This is how we bought our house (not through the website but a Kasikorn Bank Branch). The house we bought did have some work to do as there had been some damage during the repossesion, but we set a budget for that and IMO the final price was good. https://www.kasikornbank.com/th/propertyforsale
  6. The math still seems a bit off. But perhaps some mental illness that treatment could have helped. This reminds me of a popular bar owner on Sukhumvit Soi4, Bangkok. A regular, and friend of his, laughed that he often got so drunk he fell off his stool and had to be dragged/carried home. I advised laughing guy that we all get drunk, but we don't fall off stools and most likely the bar owner needed medical attention. The bar owner is dead now. To what extent should we ignore or applaud (even profit from) seemingly crazy behaviour.
  7. Collapse of buildings is rare as they are designed to withstand foreseeable events. But there are collapses due to factors including fire. As far as collapsing vertically down into its own footprint that is due to gravity, whether the structure has a period in freefall and resistance below. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-38675628 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surfside_condominium_collapse
  8. I doubt this will beat the Heineken as a cold refreshing pint, but high hopes on taste...
  9. Heineken. Not my usual choice, but cold and refreshing
  10. If your mate is say 66 how long should he plan to live for? 1 year or perhaps 34 years (with some medical costs). Depends on the circumstances, there are many guys these years without much of a pension. Of course if this hypothetical mate has made a plan based on 34 years to go and still has money to burn then it should indeed be party time, don't want to be over cautious.
  11. Gazza and Pattaya what could possibly go wrong .....
  12. I think you might know my opinion on that...
  13. I don't think an electric bicycle is tremendously gay, if at all. But have you got any ultra-gay add-ons 1. Do you drink wine? 2. Bum bag? 3. Using an umbrella rather than getting totally soaked? 4. Crying while watching movies, reading books or just coz feeling "emotional"? 6. Kissing dogs (except where "dogs" is a term for low-life girls in which case give your self +1) 7. Moustache? Pedalling won't do you any harm during non-gay moments.
  14. For guns and mass killings, presumably by mentally damaged people as the sane by definition could not carry out such an act, I do think both access to guns and more responsible reporting by friends, relatives and instituitions would help. So although I can't feel the pain of those closely affected I do think more could be done. Thailand for example has a very high figure for gun ownership, but are safeguards in place. For suffering in general, be that by famine, war or political failings I quote from George Galloway "...........which killed one million Iraqis, most of them children, most of them died before they even knew that they were Iraqis, but they died for no other reason other than that they were Iraqis with the misfortune to be born at that time." Just the luck of the draw perhaps..... I am lucky to have been born in a free country, to a good family with the opportunity to be well fed, educated, earn some money and travel the world. It is hard to imagine the difficulties so many endure. But we can only really take care of, and feel responsible for, those close to us either emotionally or physically.
  15. In BGC Manila No advice for Subic Bay Freezone received....
  16. I have never stayed inside Subic Freeport Zone, but due to circumstances beyond my control will be staying at the formerly Best Western for one night next month. Any interesting nightlife inside SBFZ? I haven't got the time to get into Olongapo.
  17. That post certainly raises a few questions... but i think time and format restraints must restrict me to "great post".
