To me Thai-Indians seem to be in their highest proportion in Pattaya. I wonder how many of these new nightlife Indian businesses are owned by Indian ethnicity Thais and how many are new to Thailand. My guess is this is new money from India coming in. Fforest i think you will know.

This looks good but don't think it will work as stated. You need "runny peanut butter" to drizzle onto the apples, i never see runny - just crunchy or smooth. But i guess the way would be just to scoop up crunchy peanutbutter with the apple slices.

I was reading that and expecting a conclusion that would prove something that i have been trying to promote for a while. Unfortunately no. But that won't stop me. My (even better) conclusion is that green apples eaten with dates is a remarkable taste combination.

Interesting conundrum. Surprising (in some ways) that there isn't a wanking thread. I have a wanking story. Many years ago as a young engineer on a north african project i was confident in my position as i'd been in the region for 4 years. One of the older expats on his first overseas postings confided in me "there's something wrong with me, i'm wanking every night - just can't stop". I advised "don't worry, we're all the same. This desert and no women can drive you mad. I just survive waiting for my trips to BKK". He replied "No, No you don't understand. I'm wanking while fantasising about my wife". That's the thing about these postings, they will drive you mad in the end.

Surprising. My passport was sent to my Singapore address without having any in person contact. I did the same with one of my kids. i'm definitely not resident in the UK, i haven't been there for 4 years and haven't had a UK home address since my father died. Maybe the Singapore delivery services are more trusted. The pricing your finding for the service seems not bad.

I applied for my recent new UK passport online from Singapore. Very simple and quick. I just tried now and i don't see any problem with applying from Thailand (Thailand's on the drop down list) https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports I paid £115 plus the cost to send the old passport by EMS

My wife owns our house in Thailand, my thought was that with 2 kids if anything went seriously wrong who owned the house was the least of my problems.

My understanding (which might not be quite correct) is that if accurately drafted most of these contracts will be within the letter of the law, but not the intent of the law. If that's correct only a minor tweak to the law will make many of the contracts not acceptable ways for foreigners to own land/landed property.

Buying phone charging cables on Shopee again. No matter how many i buy i can't stem the household demand. I bought 6 of these - colour coded and about 100 baht each. They have a very thick, well insulated cable and the end terminations look good - very industrial. They started off great and my "Ampere" app reported fantastic charging speeds. Most are now non-functioning or lost (such bright colours how possible?) So i bought 6 of these at about 75 baht each. They are a more traditional design but also look good and Ampere again gave good charging figures. Not being colour coded they are more difficult to keep track of and I'm down to only 4 already. Managed to hunt down the one cable free for me to use.
