  1. That's where I tried too, but I was trying to draw from my Bangkok Bank account.
  2. Was this at a Bangkok Bank ATM or a K Bank ATM? I don't understand how the Bangkok app or ATM would know your K Bank account number and balance (and vice versa).
  3. Bangok Bank cardless withdrawals also offer Aeon Bank and one other as options, but I read it you would have to use the K Bank app at a Bangkok Bank ATM to withdraw from your K account? I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago but don't have a Kasikorn account but wondered whether it worked the other way. Found myself a Kasikorn ATM and yes, the Bangkok Bank option is there so I carried on with my Bangkok Bank app. Got the QR code up on screen but got an "Invalid Code" message on my phone when I scanned it. So close but no cigar yet, for me anyway.
  4. Rebooted my router to hopefully get a new IP address and everything is working again. Thanks for the responses.
  5. Well, when trying to log in via a SIM router using a Dtac SIM I get this message. But I tried my phone (AIS) and everything was OK. Now hotspotting my laptop via my phone and it's OK so looks like something to do with the Dtac SIM setup. Any suggestions from anyone in the know? @Bryan @tommy dee @john luke
  6. TM6 suspension continued again. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/tourism/40037109
  7. Another shower just arrived along with some thunder. Let's see if this one lasts any longer than the previous one.
  8. Still bookable on the website so it appears so, but if you try to add a drop-off it won't let you for these two days only (when I checked).
  9. Bell Bus will not be doing hotel transfers on the 18th and 19th by the look of it.
  10. Official water splashing days.
  11. Latest pic of the potential Mookata and the start of something new just further down the road. Markings for 16 smaller units round the perimeter and something bigger in the centre.
  12. There is an additional fee if you pay via debit or credit card so avoid if possible. I think it's been mentioned in another thread that Wise' website and app used to default to bank transfer but nowadays defaults to debit card so you have to manually change it back to avoid the extra fee.
  13. Wise have a comparison tool which will show you what you'll get for your money compared to other services. They're often not the best but speed, ease of use and reliability should also be taken into account. I personally never hold money in Wise and do an online transfer to fund it as required. Still instantanious up to 50,000THB at the moment but I've noticed the cut off point between instant/next day has varied in the past. 50,000THB is also the maximum limit that can be sent via Wise to banks other than Bangkok, Kasikorn and Siam.
  14. Just heard Tony, the former boss of Murphy's Law on Soi LK Metro passed away in his sleep. RIP.
  15. As Dave says, maybe only open at night and there was one day a week they didn't open at all IIRC. Looks like Soi Nitipat is a bit further away from the river, but still walkable with a bit more choice. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@17.8814969,102.7473055,3a,75y,107.7h,83t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1srXisstzjYwHogx-CoHBjhw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu
  16. I've stayed at the CitizenM Hotel. Access is via a covered walkway and about 100m from the airport exit. "Trendy" place with unnecesary gadgets like multi-coloured shower lights controlled from an ipad, but close, nice bar and breakfast and a reasonable price from what I remember.
  17. I got a new laptop when I was back in the UK and it came with Windows 11. I tweaked a few settings to make it look more familiar but (fingers crossed) it seems to be running fine. And exceptionally fast to boot compared to my old system.
  18. A mate has stayed there a couple of times and we would often meet at the Irish Bar as it was about midway between us. The owner was some kind of weird artist IIRC. The street behing the Irish Bar had a handful of bars in it - is that Boxing Street or is there another bar area I'm not aware of?
  19. Bakehouse mince and onion pie from Siamburi's with a bit mash and gravy
  20. Some of the posh nosh from Air France this week.
  21. Both the port and the ship were insured and the boss of Lloyds reckons about US$3b in payouts, but seems quite nonchalant about it. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68688856
