  1. Just got a call from Swansea Health Board, got my appointment to see the doctor in ENT on Wednesday. Only 8 months wait but happy to finally get the call.
  2. Reading the comments above and seeing the signage, it looks like a change in what they ask for. Obviously the TM form would have had all the details on but, now that is no longer accepted, it is best to have everything ready.
  3. Thanks for the photos, it was my go to place before Covid and thankfully it is open again. I do miss the chicken curry in the restaurant, too much but delicious.
  4. Unfortunately Mirrors Club is no longer, nor any of the bars next to the hotel. Taking the shuttle van is a good move although during the day it is a nice walk. Would never walk at night around there.
  5. I always have my boarding pass in my pocket or on my phone but I have never been asked for my boarding pass. In fact, on occasions, I have put my boarding pass in the passport, the immigration officer just passes it back before even looking at it as it appears to be an inconvenience to have left it in my passport. Always should have available though, hard copy or on phone if asked (unlikely). More important to ensure you have the e ticket for the return journey or the e-visa if staying for more than the 30 days as a tourist. They may ask you for those.
  6. Totally agree. Back in the late 80s/90s it was OK but it started to get crazy in the 2000s. I remember once going to a hospital appointment at Pattaya International at 0830am and on turning into the road for the hospital some idiot launched a bucket of water all over me. I was not happy as this was not on the official Songkran day. It was also an unwritten rule that once the sun goes down the throwing of water stops; try telling that to the pissed up shirt-less Brits throwing water over everybody walking down Soi Diana at 8pm. No wonder I always left the country during the Pattaya week of craziness. If you want to immerse yourself in then good and I have done that but when you live there, there are things you need to do and when idiots believe you can be a target at any place and any time of day it gets just annoying.
  7. Just been to Peacocks today to buy an outfit for Kataleya (8 years) to wear to a Michael Jackson tribute act tonight in Neath. Was at the counter waiting in line and the lady in front was having a right old natter with the staff. Started getting a bit annoying as a queue was forming. Anyhow after deciding they had nothing else to chat about I got to the front. Pair of gloves and a dress with a t-shirt inside was all I had. Gloves £6, dress £15 and t shirt £4.50. The label for the t-shirt was showing while the label for the dress was tucked inside. Bill came and I realised they had not charged me for the dress, only charged for the gloves and t shirt. The counter staff was nattering now to her colleague and just going through the motions of dealing with me, not even looking at me, Did I tell her the mistake she made, did I fcuk. Pay more attention, be more professional and deal with me in a friendly manner and I may have said something but thanks for the free £15 dress
  8. Looks like Ted Bundy before he lost the plot lol.
  9. The actual connecting times are shown below. The main thing for me is Finnair will not allow you to book flights on their system unless the MCT (minimum connecting time) is adhered to. So, if booking with them, you can be assured the flights offered, are acceptable for transfers. The airport is easy to get around and it never gets too busy. The thing is if I was going Finland to London, an hour would be fine; my concern is would your flight from London land on time and allow enough time to transit if delayed. Heathrow is a bitch to get an on time departure, also with the long trek out to the runway where you may have 4 or 5 flights ahead of you in the queue on the taxi way. If it a bona-fide transit time, then Finnair would be responsible for your onward journey, but possibly you will make it but your baggage may not. Normally off international flights (non Schengen) to a domestic flight, I would assume your checked baggage would need to be landed in Finland before checking in again but these days, many different baggage schemes exist. I would check whether your bags are delivered to your destination from London without the need to pick up, before you make a booking. Just some info from the Finnair website in regard to transit, certainly looks like you need to go through passport control even if your bags are sent direct. ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' We want you to transfer to your next destination smoothly and conveniently. At Helsinki Airport, all gates are located in one terminal building, along the same short walkway. This means you can be confident that you'll reach your connecting flight fast and hassle-free. At best, changing flights takes just 35 minutes! The gate number of your connecting flight will be displayed in Finnair mobile app or on the airport monitors, but you can also ask at the Transfer Service desk for further assistance. At Helsinki Airport, the Transfer Service desks are located near gates 29 and 52. If you do not have a boarding pass for your connecting flight, the Transfer Service can issue one to you. If you have not checked in your baggage for your entire journey, you must collect your baggage from the baggage carousel in the baggage claim area. You should then check your baggage in for your connecting flight – you may also have to go through customs. If you are arriving from or travelling to a non-Schengen country, you need to go through passport control. Citizens of the EU, Scandinavia and Switzerland holding biometric passports can skip lines by using the airport's fast and convenient automatic border control machines. Nationals of Japan and South Korea may use these gates during afternoon hours when leaving to non-Schengen destinations.
  10. Well a snack really. From Lidl in their 'when it's gone, it's gone' aisle. Very nice.
  11. Had a nice pint of Sambrooks Powerhouse Porter in the George Hotel in Brecon. Was there for lunch with Porn. Her birthday tomorrow, 36, blimey she's getting old lol. Had a nice brie and cranberry panini with the beer.
  12. Were you the only one eating banana blossom in the place. I'd go mango sticky rice myself.....
  13. I noticed that you have already extended your 60 day tourist visa which brings me to a question on behalf of my mate. I told him about the process for getting the tourist visa. He then says to me his experience was that when trying to advise that he has a booking for 88 days the system throws his request out. I noticed that at the outset, it asks you your nationality, residence and duration of trip. Looking at that question it seems to suggest that you can extend your tourist visa by contacting immigration in Thailand and won't prevent you getting a tourist visa for 60 days online. So, when uploading the supporting flight ticket, if it shows more than 60 days is that an issue or do they just know that you can get it extended once in Thailand. My mate told me he was thrown out of the system and it suggested he needed a 90 day visa. I haven't been into the online form, as I believe you need to register first but as you are obviously staying more than 60 days, is the up loading of a ticket more than 60 days an issue in getting a 60 day tourist visa, does it cause any complications, I suspect not, but just need to tell my mate as he is confused, although I know he is just lazy and he does have difficulty with filling in forms.
  14. I think it might have been the sight of Nigel Farage eating a selection of animal penises that tipped her over the edge.
  15. Got all the docs and it should be easy. I have done mine in Khon Kaen and it was like Piccadilly Circus on a Saturday, a total scramble and hours of waiting for all the different tests, videos. I last did the renewal in September at the the Hua Hin office (Pranburi) and it was a breeze. Had to have an appointment and at 1100 when I arrived I was asked to hand all documents in for checking, a sit down for 10 minutes and then off to the testing area where just two of us were present (2 farangs). At about 1140, we were told to go off for lunch and come back at 1245 ready for our video. I went off to Tesco Food Court, had a feed and back to the testing centre. 5 of us watched the video which was 50 minutes of pretty gruesome 'lack of skills' driving. A short sit down and then up to the counter and pay the fee to receive the two driving licences valid for another 5 years (actually almost 6 as 5 years from next birthday which is next July). Make sure you have a residence certificate for each licence, if getting both the car and bike. It is pretty straight forward process but I always get a little rattled before I go as I always think I might screw up on one of the tests. I think the periphery test was the one I was concerned about, but on the day it was simple. I was quite shocked that the residence certificate (2) was free, I am sure I paid for them when in Pattaya and Khon Kaen. Good luck.
  16. Maybe the jungle food offering wasn't to her liking......
  17. My mate in England got his today. Here in the outlands of Wales, I am still waiting. Looked on my bank statement and it was 08 December last year I got paid so may be a few days yet.
  18. I've never been to Khao San Road in the near 37 years I have been going to Bangkok. Maybe one day.
  19. I have LINE, but I have no idea what you are talking about; there is a Help Centre, if it offers some resolution. Help center (line.me)
  20. Who is Grace Dent? As much as I read some of the stories on 'Daily Mail Online', I find it incredulous when the main headline is the one below: This is news, she is a 'Star'. Who the fcuk is she? Do I care, absolutely not, but this is what's wrong with the world when this is the main news item. Obviously the Mail have decided this news matters to so many. If it wasn't for my daughter's education I would be the person 'getting out of here'.
  21. I saw this thread yesterday and was going to just say, there is nothing to compare to Pattaya. If I had replied, I would have said almost exactly what you have said in your post. There are elements of all what was asked in the phrase 'good infrastructure, wild women, oceanfront, and low traffic congestion, but not together but as individual areas.
  22. My mate who spends 90 days in Thailand a few times a year always tells me it is too hard to get a 60 day tourist visa. Seems he thinks the showing of financial statements is difficult. Maybe he is just lazy. Did you find getting the visa an easy process? I always tell my mate to get the 60 day visa, yet he never does and always goes in on a 30 day visa free entry and does a border run after getting the 30 days extended. I also tell my mate to go the retirement visa route yet again he won't pay out thinking it is to hard to get yet I tell him to get to Pattaya to sort it out or find a decent agent in Hua Hin. He spends more on border runs or flights to nearby SE Asian cities than it would cost to just get the retirement extension.
  23. Saw Venables play for Chelsea around 1963. Great player, a great manager and wonderful character. Sad news. RIP
