  1. What roads are you referring to, and when did you visit? There's a problem in Rama II in both directions south of BKK on the road to/from BKK. That can turn your journey into a slow slog in peak times . This was the case as of Tuesday this week.
  2. I live here but can't recommend anything unfortunately on the family front @AJSP that Phantom hasn't suggested above. I'm not sure that much has changed in Hua Hin on the tourist front. Probably the biggest change here and has been the shift in the nightlife away from Bintabaht but that's not a family activity😛
  3. Somehow I thought Neto played for Wolves Just looked at the fixtures and noticed there's almost no games on St.Patrick's weekend, but thankfully the mighty Spurs are playing- concentrating on the league!!
  4. Wow!! https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68436828 Stunned at the thought Pogba could have been taking performace enhacing drugs!! Bit of a shame really was such a wonderful player in his first spell at Juventus.
  5. Don't Panic😀 You seem to be doing OK in the bigger picture!! I got 20 points more than you this week, can't see it happening again this season. As a clear non-expert who thinks Wolves are a decent team, I'd pick your biggest problem as a Wolves concentration risk having 3 of their players. But then again you've most likely realised several things I haven't😛
  6. Did you smile sweetly and ask for an extra fajita? 😉
  7. Here, here!!! Just seen the news, terribly sad.
  8. No idea 🙂. You did get to overhear some classic conversations from the guys who'd sit out front of Canterbury Tales. Seemed a popular gathering point for local expats putting the world to rights!
  9. Don't miss Crazy Dave's . English breakfast and Only fools and horses, one repeats and the other on a constant loop- hell. Loved Canterbury Tales
  10. Amazing character actor. Clockwork orange, Yes Minister and Blake's Seven. Then Blackadder, Gandi and the Bill. Wow
  11. I'd love to try that, haven't had any French real ales. Their website describes it as "Mont-Blanc’s La Rousse, an iron fist in a velvet glove" 😀
  12. That sounds like a great plan. I'm struggling a little with my Thai, but must say the most enjoyable part are the lessons. Met some great people, picked up learning tips/resources off them and feel more motivated. With your strategy you will be more than capable of comfortably doing a beginners course- you'll probably be one of the better students in there. Good luck- 5th times a charm😁
  13. Very wise words about one to one tution in person. Discovered today in an attempt at an online class that the camera on my laptop no longer works 😭. Was so frazzled by it, forgot I also have a relatively new but basic tablet that works just fine!!!
  14. Set of miserable B******ds on here, don't let them get you down😀
  15. Better today in Hua Hin but start of the week was horrible.
  16. The intersection- large field to filter out🙂
  17. Found a site that offers online tutors for around 400 baht and up for a 50 minutes online lesson. You get a decent mini resume of each teacher and the real bonus of being able to book a free trial lesson. https://preply.com/en/online/thai-tutors
  18. That's like Roberto Duran demanding all fights take place in a phone box- we've no chance🤩
  19. Used to cut through that Arcade often on my way back to August Suites, was a surprisingly popular little bar 🍺
  20. Great post and thanks. I could have given the Great Info badge, the Thanks, the Thumbs Up, the Suprised but settled on Sad for the experience of an elderly couple
  21. I can understand all of your criticisms. He has though done some decent stuff amongst all the chaff. Interesting he's settling on Cambodia, that did seem to be his first love, rather than LOS. Still he comes across as honest and decent that aren't qualities usually associated with the average blogger. Really don't get live streams unless you are ill or house bound with no immediate prospects if travel.
  22. I'd agree on Ed Sweeney(or Steady Eddie as he's now rebranded) being one of the better vloggers. Though like many he's suffered from running out of things to vlog or livestreaming that's never interested me Saw him once in Retox Game on ordering his breakfast. The girl who was serving was new the job I'd say. Nice the way he stayed patient and polite as the order dragged on. He comes across as very honest, particulary about his boozing.
  23. Damn, Toby Keith at 62. Can remember "Beer for My Horses" getting a regular airing in the Long Gun. And Larry playing him in Secrets, a great artist. R.I.P https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2024/feb/6/country-singer-toby-keith-has-died-after-battling-/
  24. Wow!!! How did you find that out mate?
  25. Some of s**t farangs believe out here is a constant source of unintended comedy. Amazing that old chesnut is still around, and the guys believe it !!! Whole load of farang here really do need protecting from themselves.
