  1. Getting well from wifey b-day last night in Patts. Ibar/Insomnia killed both of us. Amazingly at 9:00am local time here, I feel pretty good LOL! Wifey still in bed, not so good. They don't listen...........do they?
  2. Just looking at some past pics, Central World 2018, these gals were promoting some "Collagen" product. That 1 gal was really nice, asked me if I liked living in Thailand, said she had been to USA, visited Los Angeles etc. I would have talked to her more, except was giving me the "Let's get going Mike" look after taking this pic LOL!
  3. Not trying to be a shill, but the subway system in Singapore is top notch also. Spent a week there in Jan, nice place. Hong Kong is nice too.......and no humidity. Maybe Larry can check this place out........and report back LOL!
  4. Lamenting a grave mistake I made yesterday backing in my SUV at the gym. Bam!! WTF?? I swear to God, I have parked here 200 times in 5 months right? Usually when you get too close to anything, the bells and whistles go off. Not yesterday, do not know what happened. I always look over my shoulder etc. Thank God wifey is Thai.....get home and took her out and showed her what happened. She said "Ok no ploblem, I will call the insurance guy and tell him what happened" And that was it. Broken taillight everywhere, bumper dented and multiple scratches. Caught a break, no damage to the trunk and it is fully operational. Take it over to a body shop that will pay for everything tomorrow for an estimate. If that was the ex wife, it would have been a full lecture, telling me how it is now going to cost us more money, as the insurance will now go up and she would have probably called me a few names too. 😧
  5. @john luke Looks like some real progress being made on Beach Rd huh? And for the better. Remember for many years, it was dicey to say the least, walking around there for sure. I have not been there since Sept 2018. That all changes when wifey and I arrive this Sunday for 5 days. Thanks for the pics..I like feeling safe LOL!
  6. Well of course, we need ANOTHER 7-11 in the area. Get to the end of our street, take a left, walk 200 yards down and there is a 7-11. Now, take a right and 100 yards down, a brand new 7-11 is there. Mind boggling. At least this one has a substantial amount of parking and is a very, big lot. Of course in true Thai tradition, they built a gas station here in 2017 right? Never opened. Why is that? According to wifey, the people in the neighborhood in the next block over objected to it being too close to their houses, the pic clearly shows this. They tore it down, and now look what we have? Amazing Thailand!
  7. Totally agree, In USA sadly, it has just gotten to this point. Mass Murders in USA are a daily news item pretty much. He is not going to try to get a "permit" to carry this firearm with him, it would be a hard sell to any judge to review his case and say OK. Believe me when I tell you all this, but my best friend of 53 years is a Clinical Psychologist, we have had some major disagreements recently about the state of affairs in USA. Because of this, I told him to f**k off the other day, I have had enough of his and many others saying that the reason we have had so many mass murders in USA these days, is because there are people in USA that have "mental health" problems. I get so god dam, sick and tired of people always using that as an excuse to kill people, especially kids. My point is that we use that excuse way too often, I think there are just " root evil people" in USA who DO NOT have mental health problems, they just do not give a f**k about anyone. They certainly know the difference between right and wrong and killing people is just a way for them to get off I guess. Let's take the lovely Steven Paddock for example. Kills 58 people in Las Vegas, injures 900 and it appears now that the FBI are now reporting, after a 6 year investigation that he was mad because casinos were not recognizing him as a "high roller" and lost his ass consistently. Over 4 days carries multiple assault rifles into the Mandalay Bay Casino/Hotel and certainly knew what he was doing. Of course others, mental health "experts" are saying he was "narcisstic" and blah, blah, blah. Ok sorry guys, I love my country, I love my family and I am soon going to be a Grandfather and just hate to see that we now have to worry about our children going to school and that just really irritates me. It just shouldn't be that way.
  8. My Son sent these pics to me this morning. He has seen enough crime in America. Went out and bought a Sig Sauer P226 Nitro Pistol. Took a 1 hour gun safety class, waited 10 days in Calif and had it registered with the Police in El Dorado Hills where he lives. Good decision....
  9. Uh Oh, I could be in trouble here, some of the videos like Lazarus has posted, I kind of like. Gives me an idea of what is happening and the talent level out there. Like Bryan Adams once said "Please Forgive Me................................I Can't Stop Loving You" LOL!
  10. Doing some reminiscing, wifey and her first visit ever to Disneyland back in Sept 2017. Had a blast there in Los Angeles. She was all geeked up, was telling all her friends that she had her picture taken with "Goofy" I had to be the dream killer and tell her that was not "Goofy"........... it was "Pluto" I am always here to help LOL!
  11. Ok Stu, I give up, what is the brown "blob" on that plate? I'm not British, so I need some help LOL! Smart ass comments are always welcome 🇬🇧
  12. Wifey was looking through some of her old camera USB'S a few days ago. She found this pic that was obviously taken by someone else with her camera. Asked me if I remember where this was? I failed. 2008 in Pattaya at The Hard Rock Hotel, 15 years ago.
  13. Getting "geeked up" for a 3:00pm trip to see the Tower at Swampy today with wifey and one of my friends. NO cameras or video is allowed but.....this should be a great experience to see an operation like this in the flesh. 3rd tallest tower in the world I see. Dinner after with the ladies....
  14. Was under the impression Songkran in Pattaya started April 15th?? What ever, we go with the flow these days. Yeah the valet parks your car elsewhere, it's OK for me. Thanks for the input...
  15. Eric, coming from Sacto, you should be OK as a general rule right? High temps, no humidity, piece of cake huh? I will say though, Vegas at 100 degrees always feels alot hotter then that. it is tough here right now, even in the burbs in Minburi, it was 37C Sunday. Walking out into the car park after the gym, I cannot believe these Security guys who work parking are STILL required to wear a jacket in there. Unbelievable. July 2017 in Las Vegas out at Hoover Dam it was 113 degrees. It was brutal, we lasted 30 minutes and had to leave. Seen Elvis around lately?
  16. Yeah fully agree, about 95% of the people that I see at the gym over the last 5 months are real nice to me. Alot of them have come up to me and have said things like" Do you like it here in Thailand"? " Can you tell me about job opportunities in USA, I would like to work there for several years if possible"? The girls who are mostly in their 20's early 30's want to know " Is Las Vegas a fun place to go, I want to go there and go to some of the nightclubs" I will say, there are some absolute stunners here that work out. All good...of course, there are a few that give you the look of "Don't even think about talking to me" look. Luckily in my case, they are few and far between. Back home in Calif, the neighbor to my left is totally cool, he works at Cisco Systems and we talk " tech" and he is an avid cyclist. The guy on the right, is a complete social outcast. Bought the house about 10 years ago, never said a word to me over all that time.
  17. Dam Force, yeah I want to run so badly here outdoors, but I can tell, at my age, that is not a good proposition. These are the times I miss Calif you know and that nice, smooth, cushioned track at the High School.....and no oppressive humidity. Wifey told me the same. Stay safe...
  18. Few of my buddies I see pretty much every Sunday at the gym. Guy on the left, 33 years old, Motorcycle Cop here in Bangkok. The guy on the right is 31 years old, owns a machine shop here locally. Both of these guys are totally cool....real class acts you know. They are both incredibly strong. They both told me if anyone fucks with me or my wife, let them know, they will take care of it. These guys are nice, but you can just tell, if anyone fucks with them, it is not going to end well for who ever that might be. Just for your point of reference, I am the 67 year old "hack" in the middle, trying to hang with the younger generation💪
  19. Glad you made it back safely Stu, you had a good tour for sure and enjoyed your pics. Great to finally meet you and perhaps we can do it again in the future. All the best...
  20. I will be in Pattaya April 9th -13th. Wifey's B-day, her request to go to Pattaya, which was quite shocking to me. What ever the situation there, busy or not, we will have a good time. I picked the hotel.......reviews are good. We'll see. https://www.agoda.com/arbour-hotel-and-residence/hotel/pattaya-th.html?finalPriceView=1&isShowMobileAppPrice=false&cid=1891451&numberOfBedrooms=&familyMode=false&adults=2&children=0&rooms=1&maxRooms=0&checkIn=2023-04-9&isCalendarCallout=false&childAges=&numberOfGuest=0&missingChildAges=false&travellerType=-1&showReviewSubmissionEntry=false&currencyCode=USD&isFreeOccSearch=false&tag=cbb2b501-fa48-41af-bc1a-0d0ef0ee005d&isCityHaveAsq=true&tspTypes=-1&los=4&searchrequestid=3cb3fe07-8817-41ab-9dda-bfcc98abdda5
  21. Gord, glad you made it home safely again. You certainly had a great time here and was great to meet up with you again. Normal for this time of year to get that much snow? Did you leave any broken hearts here in Thailand again? LOL! All the best......are you a Bryan Adams fan? He is from Canada you know?
  22. Last night met up with a former gal pal of mine for dinner that I met from the gym I joined here when arriving in Jan 2016. Have not seen her in 4 years. So finally got to catch up with her. She is now at another gym and not the one I am at now...sadly. Great gal, Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Air Traffic Control at Swampy, works both the Main Tower and Radar Control Room. After dinner we all went over to "Promenade" and saw "John Wick, Chapter 4" Dam, Keanu Reeves is one bad ass Mother Fucker in this movie! Next Thursday on one of her days off, she is meeting us at the tower and will show us the entire operation, no cameras or video of any kind are allowed. I am looking forward to see this operation for sure.
  23. My buddy of 53 years called me last night, he still lives in San Jose Calif. Met him in 1971 right? He went on to get his PHD in Clinical Psychology. We hit the club scene a ton back in the day, yep every Friday/Sat night, especially during the summer when he was not going to UCLA. Always talk about the club scene back in the day and the girls of course. He always reminds me of this tune that they played at every club, every night, even 2-3 times per night back in the early 80's. It was at one of these clubs that I met my first wife......seems like yesterday. Just so you all know, your boy Yessongs was a "bad ass" dancer back in the day LOL! Midnight Star indeed....
  24. Hostess Twinkies Cliff....Aroy Mak LOL!
  25. Jesus Christ, sick people is putting it mildly. How do these people get to this point in life?
