I have a 6 foot high wooden garden fence. I used to treat it with a mixture of creosote and used engine oil mixed 50/50. The posts failed after 40 years but the horizontal spars are still in great condition. Edit: I've just been promoted to Rookie

On the subject of big planes, the Antonov AN 225 was at Brize Norton recently. Spectators line the fence at the end of the runway when something unusual is around. On take off, it blew the airfield fence down, sending the spectators running.

Years ago, I built some kits for pressure testing heating systems but it was not economical for low production numbers. A mate (British Gas Engineer) and I installed my CH system, 15 mm and 22 mm pipes, filled and checked probably around 1985. Only replaced the controller since it was first installed.

I've used a few like this, all have been installed under floors UK homes can be quite compact and don't all have utility rooms. My boiler for CH and hot water is installed in a cupboard in the master bedroom, the limiting factor was the need to place it on an exterior wall.
