much as I enjoy Tom Hanks movies this gets my vote for worst movie remake

Flight of the Phoenix 2004 was a bit of a stinker, but the all time steaming turd of a remake goes to The Italian Job. ghostbusters was an utter travesty as well, arguably a bigger pile of turd than any other pile of turd.

None were a patch on the originals.

Steve Martin remakes of The Pink Panther and Sargent Bilko among the worst 

the Mark Warlburg Planet of the Apes film was pretty crap  ... but the newer ones were good I thought

I certainly wasn't impressed with the remake of "Arthur" starring Russell Brand a while back...

One of the better remakes for TV was Battlestar Galactica. Some great storylines, character development and the acting was pretty damn good as well.

I really enjoyed the whole series and have it on DVD, so probably time for a re-watch soon...
