john luke
The event ran from 14th to 16th February 2020. This evening there is a concert at Central Festival and quite a number of market type stalls on Beach Road. I will hopefully add a few pictures from there tonight. The photographs on the above single post were taken into the sun, so appologies for a loss of quality there. Finally all I would ask is that the event is treated as just another event in Pattaya, not a referendum on diversity issues. Thanks. John
Bazle
I watched the parade for a while. Pattaya's ladyboy community certainly did not send their best representatives! It felt a bit like a builders' fancy dress ball at times. I was fascinated by these (I assume) lesbians - the only falangs I saw in the parade. john luke
Fortunately we took a decision to have a five day trip to Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai in early February 2020. This was as the Covid 19 virus and its consequences were only just manifesting themselves. We stayed at the Dusit Princess which is within walking distance of the Night Market in Chiang Mai. The thread is mainly temples and other tourist attractions. Most evenings we ate in the night market so no food pictures. Overall it was an enjoyable trip which I do not think would have been possible had I delayed it by just a few weeks. The first slides are from a walk around the area close to the hotel. 1

john luke
The White Temple was believed to have suffered terminal damage in an earthquake some few years ago however it was later found that this was not the case.

john luke
The Blue Temple. The afternoon was quite dull; the site was also quite busy.

john luke
The Long Kneck Karen village and market. We did not go into the actual long kneck village but wandered through the market. A few shots then on the way back to the hotel.

john luke
Afternoon trip up the mountain. Very steep and bendy roads on route - not good for someone who is a poor road traveller. Before the temple we stopped at a mountain village market. A lot of traditional goods including clothes. john luke
Onto the Mountain Temple. This site although utilising multi layres had an awful lot in relatively small spaces.
