Did the farmers rent the lot to feed the herd or was the herd rented to clear the lot? When I was working in the refinery, off in the distance I saw a herd and it looked like a cowboy on a horse was tending them. KhunDon Posted November 12, 2023 Share Posted November 12, 2023 (edited) We had a huge Hornets nest in the eaves of our beach house, higher than the one in the picture and they were upsetting our maids by chasing them around the garden. There were builders next door building a new house and the wife spoke to them and they offered to get rid of the nest, so when they finished work they came around with a very long ladder and set it up next to the hive. Then one guy went up with some smoking cardboard and a black bin liner and he cut it up and put it in the black bag. No gloves or face covering except a bit of rag. Wife offered them 500 Baht for their troubles, but the guy refused asking only that he could keep the nest, which she readily agreed to. Off they went back to their village with their prize. It turned out they wanted the Hornets grubs from the nest to eat as apparently they are very nutritious and full of protein.
