  1. So we have booked an appointment at the Udon Thani DLT for 27th March 2024 to renew our expired 5 year driver's lincences. This gives us a day and a half to get the medical certificate and resident confirmation certficate from Immigration done. We have both done our online DLT tests. We pass a doctor on our way to the wife's village house so this will be done on the 25th when we leave the airport. For the resident confirmation certificate is there a form you can pre-fill out and is everything just done at the immigration office. Any information provided would be appreciated.
  2. My mum used to work in airline caterng if I was flying on an airlne they did the food for I would order a special dietry meal. The order would go to her area and I would end up with something very good. That said I don't have issues with many airline's food.
  3. Glad to read a couple of BMs are raising kids that they can be proud of. Well done.
  4. Pothole bar on the soi has been getting some good reviews. They have a couple of pool nights and a trivia night from memory.
  5. Happy birthday to your missus. Funny I drink beer nearly everyday but clueless how it gets from the coldroom to my glass. As long as it is very cold I am happy.
  6. Well said and yes the actual splicing is the easy part of the job. Yes we do have redundant circuits and that is why I came in was to transfer some circuits onto an alternate fibre while the main cable was being relocated. That said there is always the chances of mistakes or issues occurring so we did it in the middle of the night so if things did go pear shaped we wouldn't delay trains as we had a 3 hour trains free window. I reckon it would be at 30 years since I have worked in weather like that and with only 3 years left to go hopeffully no more.
  7. I see what options are available. The work is being done by a bloke that only works on Chinese scooters and operates from his house.
  8. A workmate moved into an apartment and didn't have room for his 150cc scooter so he gave it to me. It should cost a couple of hundred dollars getting the seat replaced and fixing a few minor issues to get it roadworthy and then it is good to go.
  9. The spliced cores hadn't been put into the cassettes yet and some got damaged by the gazebo frame as it collapsed. They had to resplice a few cores. The gazebo was beyond repair. We were working within a fenced of construction site and in the end we were able to remove a section of fencing to bring in a work vehicle that had a side awning attached. This allowed the jointers to keep splicing while it was still raining.
  10. Mini squall went through and demolished the gazebo the cable jointers were working under. IMG_5885.mov
  11. It’s 1am and pissing down rain and us silly Railway workers are relocating fibre optic cables.
  12. A day of coincidences today: I bought a holiday shack a couple of years ago and it is a bit dark inside. This week I bought a sliding window to put in it and at somestage I needed to organise someone to install it. Sitting in the bowls club and a carpenter turned up to drop some business cards off. I said can you install sliding windows and he said yes and could do it now. One hour later job is done. I haven't been close to my sister for over 30 years and know little about her life except she has 2 kids and an ex partner. Anyway at the bowls club also yesterday were a group of concretors from the Sunshine Coast up here doing a job and were having a few beers before heading home. They were a good bunch of guys. When they were leaving I said going home and the boss said he was heading to his local pub. This pub is where my old man drinks at. I asked him did he know him and he said that the old man is his father-in-law. I didn't understand at first what he meant until it clicked that this guy was my sister's ex bloke. I didn't know him so had no idea who I was talking for an hour or so beforehand.
  13. This may come as a surprise to Krapow but being a lover of all things related to pubs "I love this bar"was one of my favourite songs.
  14. Well said and the poster has not given the respect that this former bar manager deserves. To be in this industry for as long as he has and to not hear one bad work said against him speaks volumes of his ability and knowledge of the Pattaya bar industry.
  15. Are some girls just too shy to be asking for drinks all the time or basically lazy?
  16. Disgusts me that we had pubs in Australia not put up Austraila day decorations in case the upset the black fellows but have Chinese New Year crap plastered everwhere.
  17. I find it embarrassing when the girls smile and say good I don't like big dicks.
  18. Is your house near a pub?
  19. If I tip the ladies in front of the missus she gets shitty but when she gets pissed and is trying to impress all and sundry it seems she has found the proverbial money tree. All my money of course.
  20. Not 100% sure why but I have met most of the nutters in pubs. I'm the only one in the pub and there are at least 20 empty tables around and this fruitloop decides to sit at my table and speak absolute shit. I told him to f**k off and leave me alone. Next thing he wants to fight me. It wasn't till the barmaid told him to leave or she'll call the cops did he go. This was at 10:30am just after opening time. I would have preferred having Nightcrawler dressed in lederhosen sit at my table.
