  1. I don't think Daiso has plastic shit. (although some may argue that's all it has)
  2. 69 Baht for a beer and 90 Baht for a LD beer seems ok. Especially if you can restrict yourself to one.
  3. Whoops sorry, i jumped to the conclusion that you were very theft adverse.
  4. No phone? (good for security i agree, but nowadays who goes anywhere without their phone) If you have your phone a photo of your passport would be better than nothing. If no phone then back to the credit card sized colour passport photocopy. I used to use this all the time before the UK brought in photocard driving licences, never had it rejected as an ID. In this case just punch a hole and hang it around your neck.
  5. You could colour photocopy your passport info page down to the size of a driving licence/credit card (it's still easily readable) then laminate. It becomes a good, wallet sized, photo ID.
  6. I used to go to Tawandang in Singapore often, unfortunately it closed and the reopening at a new location never materialised.
  7. Ah, you would be an Obruni Koko then.... I've been to Labadi Beach many times. That was back in the days of Afrikiko bar and Le Reve night club in Accra. Yes a great and friendly country..

    Mojo

I saw a quite amazing sight on an evening out a couple of months ago. That event alone gave a tremendous mojo surge that is only just balancing out now. The best takeaway from that is that full mojo powers are there, just hovering beneath the surface, but not lost.
  9. Many advantages and few downsides... now what about the severed hand work around
  10. I think more appropriate if they had a kit deal for the soccer moms
  11. I think you will find freezing a more entertaining novelty effect than drying
  12. Well, omelettes and breaking eggs.... i've worked in construction since 1986 and i have to appreciate these guys working in urban areas with a low accident rate. But the noise from sheet piling will be there unless you spend more money
  13. I can imagine having an eye tumour removed wasn't pleasant and if i'm not wrong you remain awake and with eye open during the whole procedure (blinking is I guess a bit of a luxury between incisions) But apart from that was the hospital experience just great? Probably better than a similar experience in Barnsley.
  14. My longterm working stints in Thailand were 1994 to 1998 and 2008 to 2010. With many 10s of shorter visits between 1992 and now. I did visit secrets several times and can't complain. Aircon bar, beer, good food available and friendly girls. I would be there late afternoon/ early evening, didn't notice any bar management encouraging me to stay or saying hello. The location is good, but far from an absolute cracker. So my conclusion is that it was the forum, and if you weren't a (popular) BM the bar wasn't a particular Pattaya highlight. Apart from the Soi 6 bars I wonder if a Pattaya forum driven bar experience could be replicated in this era....
  15. For google maps and directions i thought you would need either a wifi connection or mobile broadband (so a cellular network and SIM card) is there another way?
  16. These effervescent vitamin C are about THB500 for 45. Each 1000mg VitC +zinc, I have about 3 a day
  17. I tried this for my knee, but got sceptical after about 3 days and gave up.
  18. You mean he does the interior design?
  19. Understand that. Hope the hassle settles down and of course the new job becomes a pleasant routine. I will be in Thailand in December.
  20. Subsidising fuel and power not a good idea. Thailand is very reliant on gas these days and the price has near doubled. Thailand does have some coal but not sure if all the coal-fired plants are powered with local coal or whether some is imported. I can't see the the price going down much in the near future unless world economies start to struggle again..
