  1. Some of that down to the tapatalk move I think. Altough I can sign in using my Secret's credentials, I can't see anything apart from a tapatalk banner. I don't want a tapatalk account so effectively I've been excluded from the forum.
  2. That's about all you seem to do around here.
  3. Who is "they"? This is a privately owned soi where the owner doesn't care less and the local council has no responsibility. I don't know about this resurfacing, but in the past businesses on the soi chipped in to get the work done. Rented businesses aren't going to go to the expense required for a proper job when they could be out of there before getting the benefit back in more business.
  4. Who said it was going to make it any better? Can't posters talk and moan about things on line they same as they would do face to face?
  5. New canopy overhead and street side rail/shelves, and I just saw a pic in another thread with a new sign since this pic. Now to be called The Player's Arms.
  6. Where are you staying this time? My next trip place is booked but was going to take your advice re accommodation for December/January.
  7. I was just throwing out receipts from shopping and counted up the total cost. That pot full made 5 meals (2 in the freezer, one still to eat) for under 250 bht equivalent. Decent eating in the UK costs next to nothing. Whole chicken £2.32, Potatoes £0.75, Carrots £0.15, Onions £0.30, Baby sweetcorn £0.89, Mushrooms £0.67, Garlic £0.05, Tomato £0.13, Leeks £0.50, Stock £0.07
  8. I'm not keen on cooking and I'm not keen on vegetables, but somehow I talked myself into this little lot. I even deboned the chicken myself which was a first. There was potatoes, carrots, onions, baby sweetcorn, mushrooms, garlic, leeks and a tomato in there.
  9. What's worse is if you order on line for pick up at the airport you get a much better rate than walk in customers. Currently 37.4. Still not good but better than the 32 in your pic.
  10. Opposite up here yesterday. I landed in Edinburgh mid-afternoon and it was scorching. Out in the back garden with a beer once I got home.
  11. Last time I remember these things being discussed the nitpickers declared you can't call them poached eggs, but to me they are just fine.
  12. In The Emirates Lounge at BKK. Had beef cheeks and mash but pretty meh. Crackers and cheese a safe back up.
  13. Thanks thumper63, I thought it was misteregg that bought the drink so I stand corrected.
  14. Even different bits of the main course arriving at different times.
  15. That's what I thought was happening, and even asked about it over there, but now although I can log on, the banner from lanzalad's post is all I can see. It doesn't matter if I look for forums, discussions, messages or what, all I get is that banner. Tried Firefox and Chrome browsers. I thought it might have had a time limit or access count limit put on that I'd reached.
  16. Just discussed this on the "If you got banned?" thread that's been sidetracked. I can't see anything but that banner in your post and I don't fancy signing up to tapatalk so it looks like it could be goodbye Secrets.
  17. It's been posted over on Secrets so hope it's OK to post here too, there will be some sort of memorial for Baz in Le Pub at 8:00pm on Thursday this week, 6th June. His wife and son will be attending so a good opportunity to let them know how well he was thought of.
  18. Sheep's heid broth used to be popular but you don't hear of it much nowadays. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/lifestyle/food-and-drink/252017/lifestyle-step-back-in-time-with-michelin-star-chef-tom-kitchin/
  19. I used it from my laptop PC less than a week ago and never noticed any changes. A dummy booking just now still shows up with the rate being guaranteed for 43 hours. I've paid for some time direct from my bank account to Transferwise, and I think to lock in the rate you select your bank and method, then at the bottom of the next screen there are three options with the middle one being "I'll transfer my money later". I usually pay immdiately so no practical experience, but that's what it seems like to me.
  20. It looks like its been around for a few years now and there's been some discussion on Thai Visa. All clear as mud as usual. Here's a recent discussion, and it has a link to an older one. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1098472-pattaya-city-property-tax/
  21. It's good he appears to have adopted nampla69 as his buddy. They can witter away to each other in their own little language without anyone elses' involvement.
  22. Fake news. Lots of others done it too and Liverpool also did it in 1996-7. https://readpl.com/2018/12/22/the-premier-league-teams-to-have-been-top-at-christmas-and-not-won-the-title/
