  1. Remember the first time I saw a 2CV. I was standing at the bus stop waiting to catch a bus to work. A2CV went passed. I had never even heard about them and thought it was some kind of home made thing. Remember thinking "they look like Beetle front guards. Anyway when I got off the bus, there was the 2CV in the carpark at work. Turns out it belonged to my new boss in the sales office. After that he would often pick me up at the bus stop and give me a lift to work. I was 16 at the time.
  2. Nah, not like Citizen Smith. Just a simple flying jacket.😊
  3. Never followed fashion. Preferred practicality. Wore one of these.
  4. Great story Butch. Thanks. Here in Oz we have just been treated to this.
  5. For many years I always woke at 3am. Bustin for a piss. Thanks to VB stubbies. Now I have a few Whisky's and can sometimes sleep all the way through the night.
  6. The bits of steel in your teeth would be a bit off-putting.
  7. We had a nasty PE teacher that went by the name of "Haggis" who, at the end of every lesson, would make the whole class of 32 boys run naked around the shower room whilst he did his best to spray your arsehole with a very high pressure hose pipe. That thing stung.
  8. It had the old issue of water running down the throttle cables and into the carbs, Never have the slots on the lever adjuster facing upwards.
  9. I have had one car that I wish I still had. ZL Fairlane. Sadly only a 6cyl. Worth over 40K AUD now. Sold it for $2500. The idiot who bought it gave it to his GF. When she wouldn't f**k him he torched it. And a 125cc & a 250cc version of the Honda TL.
  10. First trip was 16 days on Phuket, with a friend. Second trip I landed in BKK, solo. When I get to immigration the girl on the desk starts flipping backwards and forwards through my passport with an increasing sense of urgency. "Trouble" I enquired, after a minute or two, to which she says "Yes big trouble" and then calls over some dude with masses of scrambled egg on his shoulder and on the peak of his cap, who was also thumbing through my passport. I sensed he was looking for something that wasn't there and that's when I realised that Phuket had not stamped my exit the previous year. I think they were thinking I had been in Thailand for the whole year. For a minute there I felt they were going to put me back on the plane that I had just got off. Then I happened to find the boarding pass for the previous year. Now whether it was a face saving thing or something else entirely, I was waved through with plenty of smiles all round. Close call or what?
  11. ^ What about Horlicks Tablets. Used to love those.
  12. Do you mean 10,000 klms. I mean, just how many oil changes can you do in 1000?
  13. Chi Flyer. "Candle in the wind" was the "B" side to Yellow brick road, and was written, in 1973, to honor Marilyn Monroe. He just modified the words for Princess Di.

  15. One time, many moons ago, I was a passenger in a nine seater waiting to take off from BNE to fly to my local airport after a month in PNG. As we waited to get on the runway we watched a large (Jumbo?) plane coming into land. It was experiencing heavy crosswinds and bobbing about all over the place. Our two pilots were having a good laugh. When we took to the air our little plane seemed to spend more time going up and down than it did flying horizontally. Trouble was one of the passengers lost every drop of bodily fluids out of every orifice she had. Amazingly everyone else kept theirs inside themselves.
  16. ^ That reminds me of another old joke. What animal has a c**t halfway down it's back? I think you can all guess the answer.
  17. ^ A friend of mine got one about a year ago. Doesn't stop raving about it.
  18. What I meant Free is I couldn't see anything. No pics at all, just a downloading thingy that kept on going round and round.
  19. Last five didn't work for me, Free.
  20. ^ Once took a driving test in NSW where I asked the instructor if I could do it barefoot and he said OK.
  21. Certainly remember waking up to ice on the inside of my bedroom windows as a kid in Lancashire.
  22. ^ I wonder whos' tooth brush she uses to clean it?
