Horizondave
Difficult to hide that room from any staff who needed to enter, clean etc. What were the Indians thinking of, did they not know the rules, now they do.

Doubt it was the first night ... I find it hard to believe the hotel wasn't aware ... several gaming tables being set up , who was serving the buffet and cleaning up afterwards , who was serving the drinks , etc , etc , etc I assume someone didn't get paid as much as they thought they deserved .. 1

Reminds me of the gambling that was going on in the house next to mine in Pattaya Hill 2 when I lived there. Owner was away, his girlfriend had invited the gamblers and she got over a million in debt. She told her husband her family had got in bad debt and he was about to help pay until my mate living opposite told the boyfriend exactly what was happening in his house when he was away. He moved on after selling the house a month or two after he kicked her out. What was crazy was at least two of the visitors were police in full uniform. The gambling was 24 hours and it closed down when we complained (estate committee complained to the local police), the girl disappeared but we were pissed off mainly because of all the bikes and cars being parked outside all the houses but not outside the gambling den, sometimes blocking our entry to our own properties.. Eventually somebody is going to catch on, you got operate illegally in Thailand on any pursuit for long.

Toy Boy
What's the betting (sorry, lol) that in a year or so Casino's will be legalised and all this nonsense will be history? After all look at how fast everything changed on the weed front. "And this is Thailand, where until last June you could be jailed for five years just for possessing marijuana, up to 15 years for producing it; where other drug offences get the death penalty." The BBC has an excellent summary of the situation on its website (from which I lifted the above quote), with some interesting background information: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-65345274 I wouldn't be at all surprised, if the right people win the impending election, to see a big change in this aspect of Thai life, too. Though to be honest with you, I'd far sooner they got rid of the daft law banning booze sales in shops between 2:00 and 5:00! 3

Good chance too the first legal casino will open before the forum finishes processing the search index. 1
