Rough landing in Toronto

Just saw this, I hardly ever use this huge airport because it is a damn zoo......As a very nervous flyer, so much for my theories that the bigger planes are not affected by the wind, and once you're about to land it's all good!

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.

Looks like they encountered low-level wind shear, which pilots are trained to expect and handle.

Other than praying, there is nothing you can do.

A pilots worst dream  - Runway behind you and altitude above you.

One time, many moons ago, I was a passenger in a nine seater waiting to take off from BNE to fly to my local airport after a month in PNG.

As we waited to get on the runway we watched a large (Jumbo?) plane coming into land.

It was experiencing heavy crosswinds and bobbing about all over the place. Our two pilots were having a good laugh.

When we took to the air our little plane seemed to spend more time going up and down than it did flying horizontally.

Trouble was one of the passengers lost every drop of bodily fluids out of every orifice she had.

Amazingly everyone else kept theirs inside themselves.

i was passenger u front in a small plane landng at philly PA airport some 30 yrs ago.  crossing the river to land and all over the place.  scared witless, as we had already flown thru a storm.  pilot was old and ex korean vet.  so i was in safe hands
