So what has this peaceful approach achieved in the last 20 years? Does anyone actually believe that China will take any notice of a peaceful protest. Didnt they just ignore a UN resolution on the disputed south china sea islands, sending more ships and expanding their take over.

biggles replied to Pumpuynarak's topic in Off Topic Chat
Mydelf and my lovely lady will be attending on the 18th and looking forward to it -
When my son was 12 he loved to watch Dave on oz Tv. Read that he was coming to our city so saved his pocket money to buy a ticketand he and a mate went. I had rung DA assistant and told her about them. She met them at the theatre, took them to his dressing room where he sat them diwn and chatted to them both A very funny man but more importantly a caring person. 34 years later my son still remembers this kindness

Stillearly, that's great news and a lot more convenient as well. Pretty expensive tho, we pay similar or often less to fly to Bangkok with Cebu Pacific. Take a cutie with you, she will love you for it.
-
"I know you can fly from Clarke to El Nido" Are you sure about this? Cebu Pacific always flew Clark to Puerto Princess and its a 5+ hour road trip to El Nido from there. I thought you had to get an AirSwift flight from Manila direct to EN?
-
Andy coll not sure why so expensive. You don't need a letter of intro, just a $19 ripoff. Go to the official govt website for your evisa. evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn pay only $25 US. upload a passport photo and face page your passport. U can track progress and only takes 3 days. Very quick at immig as well when u arrive. Got 2 one for Filipina GF no problems

Snooky was such a nice place that 10 years ago mates and I seriously considered long term rental of a house there. Great beaches, lovely people and so low cost Everything I read now from visitors saddens me greatly

GF and I had 2 weeks in Nha Trang earlier this year. Fabulous wide beach, no rubbish around. clean water, no hawkers, jet skis, parasail boats etc. A wide tree lined park all the way, about 4km, gym equipment, toilets and showers. Taxis quite cheap but 5 local bus routes to all the popular places for 7000 vn dong one way. The only real downsides were the place is packed with Russians. Signs, menus, brochures all in Russian. We also found English speaking not common there, Google translate was useful. We would go back again.

Re the croc clip. My son lives in Cairns north Qld, lots of crocs. His boys fish from a raised bank about 20 feet above a wide river, and one of the trees has a rope swing attached to it. He always said never use it, it could be dangerous and for years they never did. On my last visit they took me to their fishing spot and when we looked down there was a bloody huge croc swimming upstream. Afterwards a local asked if we had seen their local 'pet' 5.5 metres long and very hungry. -

" I don't want a tapatalk account so effectively I've been excluded from the forum." Me too. Been a member for 13+ years and got a message saying I needed to go to Tapatalk, that my account info was in use already there by someone else!! And I needed to now register with them using new details. After a month or so I could no longer log in with my old .secrets log in.....so I gave it away.

"Confirmation of email address is probably not necessary to use the board: it is merely to check the data is still correct." I didnt sign up to Tapatalk and didnt confirm my email address but have no problems continuing to use my old log-in and password. Tho there are so few posts now it hardly seems worth the effort!!

Let's have a laugh at the scam emails we are sent
biggles replied to Bazle's topic in General topics
You really have to wonder how people could fall for these very obvious messages. A couple of my email contacts got messages from me saying that my GF and I were robbed and stranded in KL and please WU money to me there. Now my GF name was right, we had been to KL many times BUT one contact was my son, who knew we were in Hong Kong, and the other was a friend who has no money. BUT if the right contact had been chosen, it was at least believable. I couldnt work out how they were going to collect WU in MY name in KL, unless they had an accomplice in the WU office though.
