  1. Good Info! Never gave much thought to what kind of gear I want to sport in the bunker. Thanks for the tip!
  2. I am in the middle of a heat wave atm in Farangland and the central aircon unit for my condo decides not to blow any cool air. An HVAC buddy of mine came over for a look-see. The unit is 26 years old and I know it's on it's last leg. It cost $4,000 dollars USD to replace and that's really cheap because my friend would be replacing it. We go out back for a look at unit and all it needed was a "capacitor" (whatever the f**k that is) and a freon boost. $400 bucks all in. I saved $3,600. Now I should be jumping for joy but the money will needed for the next BLM Statue Shooting Protest cluster f**k. I need the money to finish my bunker. Gonna make it like a man cave for the Armageddon that's coming here to Yankville. This Shit Show of a country is the last place I want to be right now.
  3. Don't know how reliable the source, but if some of the claims made in this article are true, they are depressing atm. Thailand’s tourist magnets deserted and desperate Deserted Tourist Magnets
  4. I would be lucky to be even allowed in any country atm. It's one big giant shit show here in the States. I am hoping to be able to enter Thailand in June of 2021. I am even a bit pessimistic about that date. If the US implodes more than it has already has in the last few weeks, I ain't going anywhere.
  5. I thought everyone knew that two Apollo spacecrafts crashed into the World Trade Center and caused the Earth to become flat.
  6. Waiting on the HVAC guy to arrive at 8am to give me the verdict on my air con unit. I know f**k all about these units. From what I hear, It could just need a freon boost or the unit is fried or a dozen different other problems. 4k all in for a new unit is the worst case scenario. I can eat that if I have to.
  7. Hua Hin is on my short list to set up a rental base camp condo when I retire in a couple of years. Loved the summers I spent there.
  8. Always got a good pour of Scotch at the Rock House consistently over the years and LePub as well. The Metro Bar bartender comes to mind too (been there for at least 4 years) as she free pours a decent amount of spirits without a jigger. The key is learning how to free pour without a jigger (1.5 oz or 44 ml) which makes for a bit of a stronger drink. Many bars and GGs I have been to in the red light districts in the LOS over the years, use jiggers to pour and you end up with a weaker or so so drink more often or not. They seem to either require them to use a jigger or they use it because they cannot free pour. I also can understand how a jigger can be a good preventative measure to keep the totally inexperienced from extremely over pouring. Learning how to free pour spirits into a drink that is closer to 1.75-2 ounces or 48 to 50 ml of spirits is not going to break the bar and keeps the clientele happy and they will remember where they got that decent drink. Maybe I am too used to the jigger not being used here at home. I bar tended for years in my 20's and free pouring was the only way we did it. Expecting the same in SEA? Not so much. On a side note: I wish I had 20 baht for all the times (especially some GGs) I have been served 100 Pipers rotgut rail Scotch that has been poured into mid-shelf Scotch bottles or they simply just pour 100 Pipers thinking most won't notice. It's done with other rail liquors as well and I am sure many of you have picked up on it. I can smell and taste the cheap whisky a mile away. I don't complain. I just never go back.
  9. I am the same. I never buy or subscribe to anything. Too limited for me here or in Thailand. If I want to see it, I download it. As you mentioned, Thailand's overall internet speed is faster than it was 5 years ago which makes downloading so much easier. There are still plenty of us dinosaurs out there.
  10. For the past 10 years, I have kept $7,000 dollars in a kitty in case my central air conditioning unit goes up. After 26 years and last one to be replaced, during a massive heat wave atm, my unit decides to take a huge shit yesterday. I love that 7k right now.
  11. Rose was a beast on the base paths and took no prisoners!
  12. How would you rate this lady? You can't rate ladies who are not ladies. Trixie Mattel in the photo is a drag queen named Brian Michael Firkus.
  13. That's not the case with my pension and the way it's structured unfortunately.
  14. Especially taxes on pensions and Social Security after you have been taxed on your contributions for Fing years. The IRS here is a criminal operation. I get penalized for being single and pay more than a married man. Ludicrous!
  15. Enjoy beans. Usually over here in Yankland, they are a dinner food. But since eating English breakfasts overseas, I like them with a morning fry up .
  16. I saw them open for Judas Priest many years ago in a small venue. Ears were ringing for 2 days. Thought I developed tinnitus FFS. Concert was brilliant.
  17. There's a beach in Pattaya? And, here I always thought it was a sewage treatment center? Never put a toe in it whatever it is being portrayed as.
