I suppose it is something that might make customers feel more comfortable rather than rubbing shoulders etc with another passenger but it seems a token gesture in terms of trying to alleviate any infection between passengers as the air systems would ignore those short distances. Still will be beneficial for those who hate the middle seat and would be worried about being stuck in one.

Seen it, was thinking it wouldn't apply to us anyway, families.

Being in a family shouldn't really make a difference. Just 2 one side of the aisle and the other parent in the adjacent aisle seat, traveled that way quite a few times with Porn when traveling on Thai Smile up front, actually I quite like it that way, no need to be on top of each other even in a family unit.

May be a little different on those airlines that are thinking similar when utilising aircraft with 2 4 2 or 3 4 3 configurations and then those with business class need to rethink as well.

Hopefully it's a personal choice if you're a family.

Me, i'd ask for us all to be seated together in a row of three.

We've booked to go to Northern Ireland for Xmas, already booked our seats together.

I did read up on the article and not sure who else will be doing this from the airlines - in terms of making a difference in getting an infection I can seeing it reducing it to a very small point but then you think about passengers touching the tops of seats as they head towards the toilets, whether they’ve learnt to wash their hands by now in their adult lives. A common myth about the air constantly circulating the same stuff is not true. I’d love to see some real science behind the decision.

Airlines are in serious trouble..... if we want Pattaya to get back to normal, we need all airlines to thrive....... whether it’s a gimmick or scientifically proven, not sure I’m particularly bothered...... I want the world to fly!!
