A man has been critically injured in an attack after a Championship football match.

The 52-year-old was found with a serious head injury in west London following Queens Park Rangers' 2-0 win over Luton Town on Friday night.

Police believe the man, who is from the Luton area, may have been assaulted or caught up in disorder.

Appealing for witnesses, Met Police Det Con Arrash Faghihi said the incident happened in an "extremely busy" area.

Officers found the injured man near the Uxbridge Road junction with Devonport Road at about 21:50 GMT.

"He remains in a life-threatening condition and his family has been informed," a Met spokesman said.

Det Con Faghihi urged any witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage which may be relevant to contact the force.

"This man sustained a serious head injury, and it is vital that we make contact with witnesses quickly," he said.

"The area was extremely busy after the match and there will undoubtedly be many people with information that will assist police."

No arrests have been made.

Sad but inevitable...Good luck for the future Ole

Massive job for any manager, never mind a fairly inexperienced one like Ole.

Need a high profile name like Zidane to keep the fans happy. Used to managing a huge club and the inevitable expectations.

I was at the match yesterday & we could/should've been better than 2-0 at HT.Utd had a 15-20 minute spell at the start of the 2nd half but then had their big lump at the back dismissed & the rest is history.

With all the talk of Ole people are overlooking the fact that Watford played a blinder.

United appoint Ralf Ragnick as manager for 6 months.

Yeah, I ain't heard of him either. Sounds like a character from Thor.

Spurs all over again, desperate for anyone. Should just leave it to Carrick.

He's a good appointment, will probably move to director of football afterwards ... then United have plenty of time to secure Poch or Eric Ten Hag after this season ends 🤞

Not sure what United think he'll bring them, one German FA cup win is not much to show for 30 years of management.
