Last night wifey tells me "Don't come inside the kitchen, I make something for you that I never make before" Oh Ok...so she opens the door, tells me to sit at the table, close my eyes and wallah! She made one of my all time favorites when at any restaurant..Pineapple Fried Rice... She will be rewarded today at The Mall Bangkapi.....the question will always be "How much is it going to cost me"? LOL!7 points

Saw my psychiatrist earlier, and she was actually happy with me compared to our previous visit. She wants to see me again and is considering taking me off her patient schedule if she is happy with me next meeting. So looking positive. Just need the weather to improve and get a bike and get out riding.6 points

Now we're talking, when i first saw ACDC in the late 70's it was at the Gaumont in Southampton in front of circa a few hundred fans with Bon Scott on vocals, just brill. Nowadays their 2024 European Tour is sold out within an hour by thousands and thousands of adoring fans.4 points

So, Amazing Thailand! There is a drought on here (no this isn't about Sonkran!) and the village water supply has dried up so we are getting a new hole drilled, 55ft downpipe, filter and pump installed. Because the situation is widespread we have had to wait a week for the drilling truck to be available. As it has started to work nearer, I took the opportunity to monitor the process. They seemed to be scanning the required area before successfully drilling down.. ...They arrived here about an hour ago to start scanning the 2 rai of land. Firstly it was the standard gift and praying to the spirits with jossticks and seesip degree ... but then they brought out the technical gear to start scanning ......Yep! You are ahead of me on this one, and you are right ...Two fucking water divining twigs!! I came inside when M'Lady joined in with the chanting ..4 points

Something that I realise now but didn't as a kid, was how a couple who lived across the road from us were very kind, but somewhat guarded. They took immense pride in themselves and their house, garden kept immaculate with the Man of the house, traditionally keeping it tip top. He never got the arse when our football went on his lawn or flowerbeds, unlike other neighbours who'd keep the football, or in one case, puncture it. They were both always very kind and thoughtful. I remember my Mum telling me years later that they had both been in Concentration camps during the War, and were Jewish, met later on and married but never had kids. What really made me think about them was that we used to play "war" in the street with wooden guns, one side Germans the other British. Only now I realise that it must have been quite painful for them to watch and hear.2 points

The only concentration camp I ever visited was Flossenburg (near Dachau, admiral Canaris was murdered there) and that was already enough for me. I intend to visit Auschwitz with my sons when they are old enough. From family history I was told my paternal grandfather (at the start) ended up in command of a group of soldiers somewhere in Friesland and his first order was to remove the bronze lions from the helmets. None of his superiors had noticed that those were both an excellent aiming point for the Germans and allowed the bullets to penetrate the helmets instead of glancing off. Not really war related, but during the war: Upon the news of the death of Dr. Willem Kolff, my mother told me her father (long dead by that time) assisted Dr. Kolff in the creation of the artificial kidney.2 points

I don't know anyone who likes the man. Even my cousin's in Merthyr can't stand the man, yet Wales will still vote Labour in at the next election, although not with the overwhelming majority they have held previously. The farmers rebellion and the 20 mph speed limit will see votes go elsewhere. Don't need to put this post in the politics thread, we are a small nation and it couldn't possibly create a long thread of replies unless the sheep get a chance to have their say.2 points

I have had many girls give me photos, even would have been happy to have photos taken. The issue for me wasn't whether they gave agreement, that wasn't the issue. The issue was whether anybody would use those photos against me. I made the error of embellishing a story of my time in Angeles and some forum member gave my wife a log in to see what I had written, damage done and I am no longer married to that girl. Even keeping photos in a safe place is not safe where women are concerned. They usually find the photos, especially a while later when you are not being so thorough at concealing them. Very early on I realised it was not a good thing to keep photos around the house. Thing is, even a conversation advising your partner that these photos were taken years before tends to fall on deaf ears, you are just a rat. Luckily I am no longer in situations where compromising photos are taken.2 points
