john luke
Temperatures reached a high of 15 degrees, so packed lunch on Ilkley Moor. Some strange effects with the haze in the distance. 1

I have Lightroom set up to show it as a watermark on each picture as I export from Lightroom to a folder prior to posting.

john luke
East Riddlesden Hall is a 17th-century manor house in Keighley, West Yorkshire, now owned by the National Trust. The hall was built in 1642 by a wealthy Halifax clothier, James Murgatroyd. The hall is a Grade I listed building. There is a medieval tithebarn in the grounds. East Riddlesden Hall perches on a small plateau overlooking a bend in the River Aire on its way downstream from the town of Keighley. john luke
Traded in my 6D Mark ii for and EOS R on Wednesday, worked on the elections yesterday so today was the first opportunity to give the new toy a try out. I have visited Kirkstall Abbey numerous times before but it is always good to visit. Very quiet there today; I do not think I saw more than 10 people on the site today. So far so good with the new camera. The weather this morning was still a little cloudy but some direct sun.
john luke
An hours drive to Brimham Rocks in the Yorkshire Dales, a little north of Harrogate/Knaresborough area. The weather was changeable during the morning. I certainly did not remember the place, however I have a vague memory of visiting on a school trip, which would be a few years ago. Horizontal strata comes to mind; long time since I did O level Geography. All in all whilst the pictures are not spectacular, it was a pleasant walk. The area is managed by the National Trust. Car parking is £5 for non members but free for members. There was a small cafe on the site selling take away food and drinks. image.png
john luke
A 40 minute drive along the M1 to Wentworth Castle, Gardens and Parkland. The property is managed by the National Trust. Admission is free to members and £5 for non members, (parking included.) The weather, whilst overall pleasant was changeable during the morning. Extensive work being done on the castle itself and an amount of gardening work also being completed on the site. Overall a pleasant experience. Quite an ammount of work going on on the castle itself.

Lantern
Wow there were only five or six domes up on Menwith hill when I was there about 40 years ago. Edited May 19, 2021 by Lantern
john luke
A few from Knaresborough taken this morning on a dull day. I did not go into Mother Shipton's Cave, due to time and pending rain. In fact the sky opened with torrential rain within two minutes of me getting back to the car. 3

john luke
Kirkstall Abbey is a short car drive from home. I visited this morning. I am still somewhat apprehensive about the opening up of UK from Covid 19 restrictions so have decided to wait until the end of the school holidays before travelling further. It was a cloudy morning, not bright but not dull.

john luke
A ride to Otley this morning. Farmers market, Churches and grounds, including scarecrows, various shops and Public Houses and two Jet 2 flights from nearby Leeds and Bradford Airport. Why would anyone want to fly out of Yorkshire to Europe of all places?
