If any of you are interested, the 916SP i had was one of the first consignment of 32 bikes to arrive in the UK, most of which were snapped up by club racers for track use.

I had a good mate/customer who knew a couple of the chaps who worked for Fast Bikes magazine. They were doing a big test at Le Luc race track in France and were looking for an SP to use for it, he gave them my number and they called. It was agreed that they could take my bike for about 1 week, in return they would give me an Arai Quantum Swantz replica helmet and 3 years subscription to Fast Bikes. They also promised to look after it.......55555.

Well a little over a week later they returned my bike and presented me with the helmet too. Out of the 20 bikes on test mine came 1st and interestingly in the conclusion at the end of the article they said it would of done even better had it been a factory demo and not a customers bike, as they then hold a little back when riding it.

If any of you chaps are interested, i have the whole test on my PC and can post here, 24 pages. Assuming that will be ok with the chaps who run this forum ??

Mr. Galen will be most happy as there were a number of Kawasaki bikes in the test and they too done quite well.......

Top post mate, love to see the article.

Or I can give you my email and send it to me.

Let's see if it's ok to put on here, i dunno if there's a limit on uploads ?

But if so, then for sure i can mail it to you, or if we are ever able to meet i can bring along a copy of the magazine, albeit it's getting a little dog eared now, but the article pages are fine.....

Amongst the Kwakers, the ZX6R done remarkably well.....

Got my eye on this Z900 that's up for seven grand. Only 4000 on the clock. Fancy a dip in my redundancy, not gonna have a holiday, fancy a new bike. There's a nice GSX-S750 on sale there as well around the same price so that looks good as well.

Yeah, need to treat myself, trading in the Z800 will halve the price anyway so it's not a big outlay. Don't see many of the red ones for sale so will have to pop in there for a look.

Have been tempted by a new one in 80's GPZ red, 50th anniversary edition. Just over 9k so not much more. Might have a think about it, not much more in the grand scale of things. Especially if I get finance.

The Suzuki looks good, on a 70 plate with 1600 miles.

Stop thinking and go for it.

Added advantage of having the full term warranty plus new everything such as tyres and chain

Always had Kwakas or Suzys so they are always my first choice of bikes. Have to admit though, the more I think about it the extra 2500 for brand new is a better option.

GSXR750, I had a good mate who managed a bike shop on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne, OZ in the 70s and 80's. I got to ride, and own, a lot of bikes and one time took a GSXR for a ride. Scared myself s... tless, and didn't buy it!!
