It's like the perfect storm for Pattaya City Hall. Personally I very much appreciate they're cleaning the place up in anticipation of my arrival. 2

What is Plan B ??? Not so sure they are using their own baht for these great ideas ( lol ) .. could be ( just saying ) BRI money .... Makes me wonder how they are paying for the new BTS / MRT extensions ( which the construction effort is massive ) and the new ( currently underway ) inter-country railway systems ..... This wuhan virus has zapped a shit load ... and I mean a shit load of money from the government .... and with a GDP that is equivalent to 50% of the worlds average is nothing to write home about .... If pattaya wants to become a premier tourist destination it needs a cruise terminal. For a city of it's size it doesn't really have much green space. I'm skeptical about the plans for walking street. It's the premier night time tourist destination in the city, I just can't see it being knocked down and replaced with a ferris wheel and a marina. The old Wuhan bat faeces handlers are probably shipping over container loads of Renminbi to oil the wheels of commerce and do some tambon in the temples.. Means the Silk Road will get to Pattaya a bit faster when they build the casinos.

Pattaya needs a proper public transport system, the traffic is absolutely horrific as it is, but as the city expands the roads won't be able to cope with the increase in traffic.
