Found a can and did my business only to turn around and see the biggest spider I'd ever seen... It was right freakin' behind me the entire time I was occupied. Glasseye
Is that lizard shot you trying to make up with me ? My first trip to Costa Rica in the early 90's (in fact it was my first trip outside of the States). I was at my buddies small Tico style house which was on the outskirts of San Jose. The house was on the edge of a giant ravine, beautiful views. I was sitting on a small couch watching a little shitty t.v. off in the corner. I hear a soft "thunk" on the floor in the area near my feet. Things did not calculate in my brain with the noise I had just heard. I look down and there is a fcucking scorpion (not quite as big as the one you posted, but damn big). Obviously scared the beejesus out of me. I can't remember what we did with it. I probably ran out of the room screaming like a three year old. But the thunk that alerted me was caused from it falling. It had gotten through from a gap in the sheet metal ceiling. fygjam
Captured funnel-web breaks record as largest ever donated A brave soul has captured and donated the largest recorded male funnel-web spider to a lifesaving antivenene program. The sheer size of Hercules took Ms Teni by surprise, as females are generally the larger of the species. “When I first saw Hercules I for sure thought he had to be a female because he was so big,” she said. “Upon closer inspection, he is definitely a male and has some of the biggest fangs and balls I have ever seen.” https://www.news.com.au/technology/science/animals/captured-funnelweb-breaks-record-as-largest-ever-donated/news-story/03603c4e7821661bb4ce70c97c86d5ed 2

lazarus
Arizona Snake Identification and Questions This Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was found about 4' off the ground on a garage work bench. forcebwithu
Have to watch where you walk in the rubber tree plantations. Just about walked through this spider web while setting a hash trail this morning. Before I reached the rubber trees I had made my way through a gully. There I encountered really heavy overgrowth that I had to cut through. What I didn't realize was there was a red ant nest lying in wait on the other side that I bumped into. Result was I was quickly covered in red ants. Did a mad dance brushing and slapping them off me before they had a chance to bite. A few still managed to get in a couple of bites. For those that have been bitten by red ants, you know how painful they can be.

fygjam
I was wondering who had been making the unauthorized excavations on my property. Just a young one, about 75cm in length. After having its photo taken it casually walked off into the car port. Probably checking chassis numbers. 1

Recently had the exterminators over (I call them the Terminators). They come into your house, punch 3 or 4 holes in the floor in each room. Then pump two 55 gallons of water mixed with chemicals into the fcuking holes. Unreal.
