Dark and striped Eastern Brown Snake!😲

Check out this stunning brown snake seen in a backyard a few days ago. As you can see the snake was also missing part of it's tail!

Did you know that Eastern brown snakes aren't always brown? They can be orange, black, striped, speckled and obviously all shades of brown and grey.

I have this guy outside my shop and around one of my staffs bikes. Is there any people we can call to safely remove him?

"It is a White-lipped Pit Viper (Trimeresurus albolabris).

In Thai: งูเขียวหางไหม้ท้องเหลือง (ngu khieow hang mai thong lueang). They are venomous and a large percentage of snake bite hospitalization are caused by them. There is a serum against all Green Pit Vipers available in Thailand. Bites are very painful but do not usually end fatally. Bites can result in intense pain, swelling, necrosis of flesh, and in some cases severe systemic bleeding. Fatalities are very rare but local damage can be lasting. Anyone who is bitten by a Pit Viper should be taken to the hospital as quickly as possible."

I crossed paths with another cobra today on my bike route (sorry no pics).

It was a little feller. Slithering as fast as he could across the pavement. I had to swerve to miss him. As I passed it became startled. It did a complete spasm, full length vertical hop up about 1.5 inches. Landed and continued slithering off into the grass.

Was an amazing sight.

Snakes of Isaan

In the Wang Nam Khiao garden today. Nearly missed her/him when cutting the foliage around the fence. Thank goodness I was using shears and not just pulling with my hands! Snake is fine and left in the same position as shown in the photos. Beautiful colour and scales. White lipped pit-viper if my observations on this site have been correct in the past.
