john luke
This morning's walk; Naklua and through as far as the Mum Aroi Restaurant. For those who enjoy eating outside the restaurant is ideal, predominantly a sea food restaurant, but do sell other foods, drinks and cocktails.

john luke
This event took place on the evening of Friday 16th September 2022, with a second performance this evening. Glow was the theme and many of the participants had clothing incorporating neon lights, whilst others and some exhibits were treated with reflective neon paint. Since the parade was over half the length of Beach Road, there was little congestion and a lot of spectators. A concert follows the parade. There were also a number of sports cars and others in the parade.

forcebwithu
Looks like no more kite events for Pattaya. According to the Deputy Major "kites might ruin the beautiful scenery and cause disorder". How these leaders can spout such nonsense and keep a straight face is beyond me. Pattaya deputy mayor warns beach vendors of placing kites on beach Pattaya Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn forbade beach vendors from placing kites on the beach, saying the kites were damaging the beautiful scenery. The deputy visited Pattaya Beach at 10 A.M. yesterday, September 20th, to inspect the beach and greet beachgoers and vendors from the Dusit Thani intersection down to Central Pattaya. During the trip, Wuthisak asked for cooperation from the beach vendors to refrain from placing their stalls and kites on the beach, citing that the stalls and kites might ruin the beautiful scenery and cause disorder. Additionally, vendors must be 1-2 meters apart, not cook on the beach, and not rent their space to others. “Vendors must comply with the rules to create a good first impression for visitors coming to enjoy the festivals,” Wuthisak told The Pattaya News. 2

' Pattaya beach and ' beautiful scenery ' in the same sentence is a great example of an oxymoron. Up there with White City Estate in Shepherd's Bush.🤣

I was alluding to the inherent, grumpy, self centered, curmudgeon attitude of Thai officialdom protecting their little bit of responsibility, that existed prior to that slogan, during the period of that slogan and will continue until well after we have both popped our clogs..

Now I know why they've removed the trees, and it wasn't to replace them with smaller trees. Pattaya City Council urges mayor to take good care of palm trees after removing them from Pattaya beach ... It is reported that after all the trees are gone, the city will move on to resize the pavement to allow more space for vehicles and traffic and then plant further trees in the future. At this time Pattaya Beach road will be expanded only to Soi Four and not the entire length of the beach, according to city officials, citing concerns from environmental groups. The project will also take place one small section at a time, according to the Pattaya mayor, to avoid any traffic delays or issues. 1

john luke
Arrived at the water front in Naklua prior to the sun making an appearance. It was quite dull and misty again as yesterday, however the lack of direct sun light does make photographing white birds somewhat easier. Having done some research I believe the birds are Great Egrets.
