My gamekeeper friend had a black Patterdale and a right hard dog it was. Seen pulling a fox out of it's lair whilst the fox was clamped on it's face.

Tough, smart, relentless.

Molly the magpie’s 45-day ordeal finally over

After a tumultuous 45 days in the custody of authorities, Molly the magpie has finally been reunited with its unlikely canine companion.

Molly the magpie has finally returned to its Gold Coast home and been reunited with its unlikely best friend Peggy the Staffy.

Queensland’s Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (DESI) made the announcement on Monday, marking the end of a 45-day saga that gripped the nation.

“(DESI) has approved a specialised license and today returned ‘Molly’ the magpie to a couple who took it in as a nestling in 2020,” the department revealed in a statement.

Molly was surrendered on March 1st and was determined to be unfit for rehabilitation or return to the wild due to developmental issues. Picture: Facebook / Peggy and Molly.

That brought a tear to my eye

For sure mate.

I felt kind of bad for the other dogs though. Many of them probably won't be that lucky.

------------------------------------

I've never felt comfortable with dog/house sitters. Too many things can go wrong.

I had a great kennel operator out in the country. She (the owner) was wonderful.

Then the last couple of years I didn't travel. I got so I just didn't feel right about it. Hated being away. That is a big reason why I have held off on getting involved with one (or two). I'm notching down my travel bug, will be pretty much done with in the next couple of years. Then back to being a family man with a couple of crotch sniffers.

Nice one.

Thanks for that.

Interesting video came up in my YT recommended list. While searching for a better copy I found the backstory to the video.

Pet Parents Use Drone To Search For Missing Husky, Discover Him Playing With Bears

That's a good video - I'm glad there is a printed story along with it because I thought  those bears looked a little different than the ones I have seen at home in Canada. One very lucky dog - I think I've mentioned before somewhere that huskies make great pets but are not known for their intelligence...

Except we don't get stuck after mating 😁😁😁

5555555555555555 !

I once caught my dog tied up by another. Nothing I could do, and she looked so happy. I just turned around and walked back inside, let them finish in bliss.

Took her to the vet the next day. Vet gave her an abortion pill, end of story.

Monkey Dog....

A couple of these will keep me very busy somewhere down the road....

My gamekeeper friend had to put covers over the fox masks he had hanging on the wall as his Patterdale was tearing out the plaster with his claws running up the wall trying to reach them. He just wouldn't stop.

I'm beginning to think they may be a little bit too high strung for me.

I don't think I would have any kind of working dog unless I had a job for it....

I've had two labs when I was younger. A black and then later a Chesapeake.

They were both a handful when young, but as they matured they were great.

The key is having the proper space nearby to keep them exercised.

Yes, having the time and area to let them run properly is important; I think back to a co-worker who got himself a border collie and figured he could leave it alone in his house while he went to work all day - big mistake, the damned thing just about tore the place apart...

Yep. In actuality most dogs will act out that way.

Can't blame them really.
