There should be one heck of a rice and weed crop this year...

Not so sure about the rice mate. They should be draining the fields now ready for harvest...

I always use Surin Elephant Festival mid November as a reference point in time because when I lived there yonks ago we were unable to attend one year because we were still harvesting our rice ... although nowadays there is more machinery involved and the seasons have changed over the last 30 years !!

Anyone have up to date info on the flooding in the Soi Buckow/Soi Diana/LK Metro area ?

Is it a daily/nightly problem ?

I-Rovers is showing no flooding around Billabong. I expect the Buakhao area to be the same as the rain, while not letting up, hasn't been all that heavy.

I don't know how accurate these radar forecasts are; they should be pretty accurate as they are only predicting a few hours ahead.  If correct a pretty rough afternoon from 1500 to 1900 hours.

On the 10 Day chart it says Warning Gibbons! But then I put my glasses on and it says Waning Gibbous!.......  I feel quite sad for the Gibbons now....

I prefer the following weather.com link for a near term outlook on Pattaya weather.

Now what's happened with this crazy weather? In normal circumstances (based on almost 20 years of living here) mid-October should still be wet and warm, with maybe longer spells between the rain which are quite hot and sunny. Instead we ended up with 24° C here last night, it's a good job I only got back from the UK on Thursday so I still think 24° C is nice and warm, lol. The barometric pressure is way up, over 2014 on my weather station, exactly as happens during the cool season when high pressure from China extends down over us. This has to be the earliest start to the cool season I've ever known, and there's no sign of it being a flash in the pan which will be over in a day or two...
