Yes, pretty certain it was a 'practice' session or possibly testing the equipment. No audience, just staff and a few press.
john luke
From this morning's walk to and along Beach Road. Nothing extra ordinary. Packing up after the Music Festival; amazing how much equipment had to be assembled and disassembled. Lisa on the Beach Bar made the news this week. Penultimate photograph, showing 8 people sat in a baht bus. Humidity is very high, as can be seen in the photographs; even approaching mid day here it is still up at 74%.
forcebwithu
Video recap of the music festival. Of interest in the report, while it was supposed to be a vaccine check to gain entrance to the fenced in area, the reality was they were turning away people who wanted to bring banned food and drink into the area. There was also the requirement people sit in chairs spaced a meter apart, even if they were in a family group. No surprise most enjoyed the music from the beach outside the fenced area. 1

john luke
The photograph does not show it but it was very hazy/misty this morning. I took this picture from just across the road and could see the cranes etc starting to fade into the mist. There were a large number of workmen, working here the other day and the fountains are now working at Dolphin Circus. Sometimes I wonder if Pattaya is busier now than in June, July and August. Sometimes I think it is, for example when walking along Beach Road adjacent to the beach, however in the months above this place seemed to always have customers. Work on the multi storey car park at Terminal 21 seems to be coming to a conclusion. I can not see this place operating again in its present form.
john luke
The mist has burnt off. A metal detector. Cable (Broadband) being laid in Beach Road. Onto the last three Soi s at the Walking Street end of Beach Road. This area is very much run down as the photographs will show.
john luke
Underground cable laying in Walking Street. I am led to believe that junction boxes still have to be fitted above ground for connection to the properties.
Horizondave
Saw the photo of the Penthouse Hotel up for sale/rent. I suppose it is inevitable in terms of the type of clientele who stayed there, I had some amazing times there, the rooms were just brilliant for a single guy to enjoy himself with company when in the room. The ability to order up from the go go was also a bonus. Edited November 8, 2021 by Horizondave 1

john luke
Merry Christmas from Central Festival. t Shops open in Central Marina but many food outlets in the front section closed. Yayoi closed in Central Marina.
john luke
This morning I walked from the condo into Naklua. On route most shops were open and trading. Fewer stbars and entertainment places, so generally trading as normal. Onto the bridge in Naklua for some shots of the sea birds. 1

Dive Bar is definitely on my list of go to bars for a pint. The owner seems to be a good bloke on YT. In one of your pics you have also captured the two most miserable, grumpy bastards in Pattaya (Pre lockdown too!!) 1

I think they are just bar owners not vloggers but by f**k they are a couple of miserable bastards ... They may (or may not!) have been part of the NWG expansion into the soi.

Is there a post date/time to see if I can identify these reprobates.

john luke
Yesterday was a bright day with the sun not too direct, so I took a decision to visit Mini Siam. Admission is 300 baht, as far as I could ascertain there was no dual pricing. Some work ongoing; they appear to be building a new entrance and ticket sales booth. The venue was pretty quiet, with less than six small groups of people. Not ideal for the owners but from a photography point of view good. The place is located on Sukhumvit, almost opposite the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

I appreciate that this type of tourist attraction is not for everyone, so I have posted it on a separate thread as per the link above.
