Such sad news. Genuine Rangers legend. First saw him in 1978 a year before he left Rangers. One of the old school mavericks, they would have to drag him out the pub or bookies before games. From the same school as George Best and the like. It’s a shame football has become so sanitised where it’s all about no drinking and eating pasta. But back then it wasn’t about money like it’s now, which is why I have lost my passion for the game. RIP Stan, you will always be remembered as one of the Rangers legends. 🥲8 points

Being a diabetic I could get Viagra for free each month. 🤗 Not needed yet, as at 72, I’m still getting a boner as hard as blue steel, even a cat couldn’t scratch it. 😇 One thing my cardiologist told me about BP monitoring was, once or twice a week is fine, any more is OTT unless of course you’re feeling rough for some reason like mild chest pains. Don’t fixate on BP testing every few hours, you’ll push up your BP because you’re worrying too much.6 points

Whenever I have stayed in a hotel solo it has always been for a reason (mainly work, dentists, doctors, visas, passports, shopping for relevant clothing ..) so a swimming pool was bottom of the priority list behind location, price and room facilities. Any hotel that included a swimming pool is purely coincidence..! As for hygiene, may I refer you to recent comments in the annoyed thread. Any swimming pool that Chinese have access to I would immediately term unhygienic .. Pissing in the pool means pissing in the pool i.e. standing on the side and pissing in the pool..5 points

Not something I need myself. I’m happy sitting by the sea than around a pool. Something about the waves I find really relaxing.5 points

Lol ! ,when i lived with my ex gf in pattaya she worked at the reception there, she would come home telling me tales from the cleaning ladies about how much of a mess the indians and chinese would leave their rooms,as both of these groups liked to cook their own food in the rooms.4 points

Often met with the reply "I thought you knew" Such as today, getting to the Barrier at the hospital car park on the way out, to find it upright. It's free parking on Sunday for visitors in one of the car parks, but I paid anyway and the machine happily took my money, all £3.90 of it. Wife said "Didn't you know it was free on Sundays?, I did". Or arriving in Turkey back in 2015, getting to the room and I couldn't find the keys to my very secure Samsonite Case. "You left them on the Kitchen table - I remembered just after we left" Sheesh.3 points

Young Smiler is also 13 (14 in May) so I know where you are coming from Don. Really don’t envy young teenagers of today, what with the pressures of social media, teen angst etc etc. Like you I am also incredibly proud that my lad tells us the truth, I was an absolute nightmare at his age and one of my greatest fears as a Dad was that he would be like me. Thankfully he is not (apart from his build) and long may that continue.3 points

It’s not a “fine”! 👮♂️ It was an accident, he got caught up in the cables because he wasn’t looking where he was going. He was the one who suggested he’d pay me back, not I, I was all for forgetting it and letting it drop. Like the PC did. 🤣 He understands that his inattentiveness caused the computer to be broken and that he was at fault and needs to cover some, or all of the costs of a replacement. I haven’t told him yet, but I’ll stop when he’s paid off £100, which I think is fair. How are kids ever to learn, if they never have to pay in some form and learn from their mistakes. Hopefully he’ll pay attention next time. 🤪 I’m proud of him as a 13 year old for making the offer of financial recompense for something that he caused, especially as I didn’t see it happen and he could have come up with any excuse rather than tell the truth, but he didn’t, he came to me and owned up to it, 😇 many kids wouldn’t have done. We’ve always instilled in him to tell the truth and it looks like it’s worked. He gets £200 a month on his kids cash card to spend as he wishes, so will hardly miss £20 a month. Kids, especially boys of his age, have their heads in the clouds most of the time, but he’s a loving and thoughtful son and not only has he learned a lesson, he’s gone up greatly in my esteem. 🤗3 points

If with family, a pool is a must, even if by the sea, as my daughter will walk the beach but doesn't like to swim in it. She is in the pool everyday on holidays. If alone, I really don't care as it is unlikely I will use it. I have often thought I would use the pool if there is one, but my history of experience has shown me that I rarely use a pool. I did stay at the Mercure Soi 15 Pattaya once, and I hated the fact it had a pool. I checked in to the hotel early afternoon after arriving from UK and wanted to sleep. There was a conference of workers from India who decided to play water polo in the pool, the noise was worse than a school full of kids. I was on the 13th floor but the noise was terrible, luckily reception moved me. Not on my top list but, if there is one, I always ask to be housed on the opposite side of the hotel to the pool.3 points

If by myself i do prefer one. I like having a swim. Though i'm certainly not one for going on holiday and sitting round the pool much, i get bored, and like to be doing stuff, trying new things. So wouldn't bother me that way, but i like to cool down and exercise a bit in the pool. With my daughter, it's essential. She loves swimming, and is good at it. We do swimming lessons at our local leisure centre, and she's stage 3, nearly stage 4, where most of the children are older. Can't wait till she's old enough to try kid's scuba, neither can she!3 points

Love that restaurant. Preferred their original beach front location but managed to find their new location in September. Still good quality with ample portions and great price. I always go for the seafood in black bean sauce, became one of my favourite meals in Hua Hin.2 points
