  4. Well, the girls I knew in High School, this is what they look like now at our 50th re-union May 2023! Well...not bad for 67 year old women....would you agree? Because I am STILL a " class act" I will not give you all the details of the 3 some we all had at my hotel later that night. Don't hate on me LOL!

  5. Back at the flat. Had lunch with Sally as she is off work today.we went to the Italian restaurant Jan loved so much. We went to the cemetery this morning to lay flowers on Jan’s and her daughter Jenny’s graves. We both find it comforting to just have a chat with them, helps us both a lot.

  7. The first place I stayed in Pattaya back in 2005. It was certainly a different town back then and we were so young and impressionable. We didn't have a clue wtf was going on. We discovered Angle Witch and spent every night in there and thought we had died and gone to heaven. Made every mistake that the oldtimers later told us about. I was going to go home, sell everything I had and then move back here. Only problem was I didn't own anything of value.

  8. We were able to view the eclips last October from down in Farmington New Mexico. I took these pics through a pair of "eclips glasses" with a Samsung s23 cell phone ( I mistakenly said s22 in an above post). I was pleased with the outcome.

My bro-in-law's 72nd birthday & him & his missus came & stayed with us in the condo for a couple of days & we took them to Pupen in Na Jomtien, got to be the biggest restaurant I've ever seen.I asked our waitress-who spoke perfect English-how many cooks they employ. She said around 100. Wonderful seafood!

  19. Obviously should have stopped and complied, I'm not excusing their behaviour ... I can only assume they thought their lives were in danger , to unarm the cop and just subdue him ... they aren't punching or being overly violent and they are filming themselves .... but yes, it's going to be very costly for them

  20. I'm always on the lookout for different types of gifts to bring back to the States on my annual visits. Those sauce and curry packets would make for a great gift and wouldn't take up much luggage space.

  22. Yep, something definitely got lost in the translation, or more likely mangled Tinglish trying to pronounce the name. Still seems an odd name for a bar unless there's some meaning behind Estobest that I'm not aware of.

  23. I grew up when the old timers were using lead, cast iron and threaded galvanized steel pipe so Shark Bites really are rocket science. I love and trust soldered copper so stayed away from shark bites for the longest time but they have won me over. Biggest mistakes people make are not seating the tubing all the way into the fitting and it's really easy to make that mistake as there are 2 points that are hit where it really feels that you are all the way in but actually aren't. Kind of like ukguys peepee and a Nigerian hooked. Ooops... sorry. What I do is mark the tubing with a black felt pin ( so it's easy to see ) at a minimum of one inch up from the ends. Works on both copper or plastic. Your mark should just barely be visible or its buried by the plastic collar. Works on all sizes of pipe up to and including 1 inch pipe. I couldn't tell you how many times I thought the fittings were totally seated ( and would of bet money on it ) but because of my marks I knew they weren't.... and I really had to push hard to snap them together. So today I swear by them. They are expensive but when you look at the time you spend to stop and solder pieces together then clean em up it ends up being a wash. I have all the tools to do Pex and the other pressed on fittings but there's just something about the look of copper and brass that is so cool. A bit winded but I hope that makes sense

  24. Brilliant move from Tincandribblers, ignoring Spurs assets and loading up on Fulham defence for the only clean sheet of the week 👍 International break now until 30th March

  29. @ChiFlyer, weren't you at one time thinking of going solar for a pool water heater? I would hazard a guess at this latitude it would be a lot more cost effective than an electric or gas pool heater.

  33. Whilst the thread's in danger of entering into 'politics', i have to say reading the thread just now has just put me in the mood to go get a couple of pots of my favourite Israeli hummus. The best in the world IMO. Might even look at getting the Barclays Clarity Card. As someone who grew up somewhere where terrorists were ubiquitous, i support anything that helps eradicate them. Kap Pom!
