Nightcrawler
Unless we are sending money, the rate is rather academic as most of us are not going to be changing our currency into baht and spending it in Thailand That said, it is still interesting to see the global effects on the Thai Baht during these strange times and the fact that is gas remained fairly stable over the last 6 months in relation to many other currencies. So far, it seems that is the least of our problems But a big think thanks to Blue Streak for keeping us up to date with the current exchange rate

I will agree though that the regular updates from BS are appreciated. Edited December 23, 2020 by Horizondave 1
dcfc2007
Strong rumours that a deal has been agreed between UK-EU. Expect the GBP to strengthen off the back of that, some are predicting it could rise 5% or more against the USD.

RR007
I'd imagine over the coming weeks Sterling will move into the $1.40's assuming the deal is ratified at both ends of which there is little doubt

Yes agree and whilst Foreign Currency Reserves continue to accumulate at record levels despite no tourism I can see it going even higher to 28.5 The thais are making very clear noises that they dont exactly need tourists anymore and will be very selective in the future

HKG did that around 10% ago. Result : Besides the local consumption of wine having gone up, HKG has become a major distribution hub for wine to Asia, has several famous wine cellars, and regularly host international wine tasting event. French wine in HK is around 15 to 20% more expensive then in France. Very reasonable.
