Oh well....not one bit of sympathy from me for this guy.

Got what he deserved. I thought the owner tried to de-escalate the situation well.

100% agree, he gave them every chance. . I read the comments that under US Law in a robbery the robber is considered to be armed and dangerous so the storekeeper took the right measures to save his own life - I imagine that to be correct?.

Poor woman woke up with an Irish accent... 😲

I'm on the skeptical side on this one. Seems she only has the heaviest Irish accent when she's asked about it, or focuses on it for her Tik Tok pieces. Add to that 60 minutes pays for interviews. Without further proof, this smacks of a money and attention grab.

Maybe. There are some medical / academic links concerning Foreign Accent Syndrome.

Can't all be 'barking up the wrong tree' now,  can they?

To clarify. I wasn't saying FAS wasn't real, I'm only expressing doubts in the case of Angie Yen.

About the only thing close to "proof" in the video was the MRI that was done on her. But even in that segment they admit it was the first time it was used on an patient exhibiting FAS symptoms, and the Dr. admitted it was the first time he's seen the pattern in a patient. Correlation does not imply causation.

I'm terrible with affecting an accent, but for some it comes easy. For a person born in Taiwan, lives in Australia and has admitted to having an Aussie twang before switching to an Irish accent, think that provides a decent amount of circumstantial evidence that she can pick up accents. It wouldn't be a stretch to imagine such a person faking the condition to garner attention and money.

The way of the world and social media these days.

There were several other cases on the 60 Minutes video. Did you happen to watch those?

No, didn't watch the other ones.

Thought the Buckeye woman video you posted was a more believable case. The onset of FAS in her case was within hours of a stroke, not the 10 days in the case of Angie following a tonsillectomy.
