I like the design and set up tho, plenty of space,at the currency exchange she didn't have Qatar riyal, and only 50 notes fir British currency, need a few more eaterys tho unless there's some up the other end.

  8. Yeah Nikon makes great equipment too......the technology these days is amazing as far as these DSLR's and Lenses. Are you happy with your Nikon? We have come a long way since I first bought my first camera 50 years ago in 1974...Minolta SRT 101....scraped by as a struggling college student to buy a "Vivitar" 135MM lens for concerts...can never forget using a roll of 36 Kodak Ektachrome film back in the day. The challenge was after you took your first 36 pictures, could you unload it at a concert, and re-load your next roll of film without dropping it LOL! Yeah and a few "bong hits" didn't help either LOL! 20 or so years ago, Costco started taking slides and transferring them to a CD.... Glad I survived all of it back in the 70's...these concert pics and others are priceless to me.

  15. Brilliant result for Ipswich. Town is in full on party mode I had my TXU Energi Town shirt on today watching the game in the Pub. Ipswich was absolutely rammed this morning, blue shirts everywhere - Princes Street opposite Portman Rd was awash with blue smoke and shirts, a really good atmosphere in the Town, the likes of which I've not really felt since the heady days of the FA Cup Win and UEFA Cup wins back in the glory days. @Krapow - don't forget Arnold Muhren and Franz Thysen - 2 great players from the land of the cloggies. Kevin Beattie as well who used to enjoy one or two beers in the pub we lived near to back then. Couple of pics, one taken by a potato and one of the Pub (Cricketers on Crown St) Great result, great game and both crowds very well behaved, a really good day out for the families as well. Gonna be a few sore heads in the morning.

  21. Many are afraid financially if they split with their wife, despite being desperately unhappy. I remember 20 years ago when my farang wife and I split up. I was unhappy for years, but hung around for the kids. Then I found Thailand, the rest, they say, is history. I remember having a few beers at the 19th one day with 7 other guys who'd been part of our group. The vast majority were unhappily married. When I told them I'd split with my wife, they were flabbergasted. I said I'd had enough and that I'm going to enjoy the rest of my life. Pretty much all of them envied me, told me I was "brave" and they all wanted to know how it would affect me financially. I gave my wife the house and her car, kept on paying for stuff on top of that for a good few years until she was settled and over it. Sure, it cost me a fortune, but it was so worth it. All these guys wanted to do what I'd done, but didn't have the balls . . .

  22. It's been too long since my last update here, so this morning got up early to get a ride in around Mabprachan before the heat of the day kicks in. In a nutshell, last time I saw the reservoir this low at this time of year was during the drought of 2015. Sure hope rainy season is good to us this year otherwise we're probably looking at water rationing later in the year.

  25. Very nervous . . Couldn't wish for a better scenario, home to Huddersfield who are all but down and with them in disarray behind the scenes. But stranger things have happened, so counting no chickens and I can't see the fat lady yet . . But what an opportunity. We'd never have thought back to back promotions, but what a job our manager has done, really well supported by the board and the owners. The whole club is together as one, it's just brilliant. This time last year I actually flew back to see our final home game against Exeter, which we needed to win to guarantee promotion. We smashed them 6-0, so hoping for similar today. I'll be watching from behind my sofa. Was fortunately enough to meet one of our American owners the morning after, we were staying in the same hotel on Ipswich marina. Great guy and we ended up having a coffee together. I'm on the right in the pic, my mate on the left, with Brett Johnson, one of the "3 Lions" who part owns the club. Come on you blues . . .

  30. For me when in the village it is a car. I bought one 13 years ago but Thai brother in law has totally f***d it. On a recent trip back wifey was told we could borrow a car whenever we needed one and had no need to rent one, it worked out like this: where you want to go? Oh great I will come to, oh and my sister wants to come, she will be here soon. An hour later eight of us are now squeezed into the vehicle finally set to leave. we get in to town and our half hour grocery run takes two hours because everyone wants to go somewhere different. And then joy of joys we get to buy them all lunch. 4 hours gone Never again! Last time we had a rental car for the whole trip and it worked like this: ”I’m going to Lotus” get in car and drive to shop. Go into shop and buy what I want. drive home 45 minutes maximum. Oh yes , brother in law is hoping for a new car to appear. I will not paying for it

  33. Problem with living alone, as many know, is lots of food comes in packs for couples or families..... so the brioche rolls I bought came in a 4 pack, and as two were consumed yesterday, there were two more sitting staring at me. Yes, I could have thrown them in the freezer, but that is already full of other goodies... The fridge had some mince, onions, Tommy k and cheese in.... so....

  37. I have somehow become a watermelon farmer now too... I have about four plants spidering their way aimlessly in all directions and I now have four or five watermelons growing quite big now.. The thing is M'Lady insists that she didn't plant any! My theory is that they came from a cow's arse! Y'see I mentioned about a month ago that I was distributing sacks of manure around the orchard for M'Lady to empty out for planting. These sacks are from her sister's cows next door and I've seen her brother feeding them watermelons!! I don't care as long as they taste nice !!!

  38. There's also a very good hospital called "Samitivej" near Si Racha - The issue here is that it is not cheap, but the Neurologist there is second to none. The problem is in many Thai Hospitals is that with these kinds of cases they often opt for invasive treatment as a first rather than a last resort - with that comes increased costs. They'll run a CT and MRI, see what damage has been done or if it's an ongoing brain bleed and then will offer treatment. It's important to establish whether it's a TIA or stroke. I've a mate who has been to 3 different hospitals and had 3 different prognosis with 3 different costs attached. The guy at Saitivej basically found the issue which was down to a conflict of meds the previous Thai hospital had given him. Make sure he takes all his current meds with him, especially if he's on Apixaban or any other anti coagulant / thinner.
