  2. Yeah Nikon makes great equipment too......the technology these days is amazing as far as these DSLR's and Lenses. Are you happy with your Nikon? We have come a long way since I first bought my first camera 50 years ago in 1974...Minolta SRT 101....scraped by as a struggling college student to buy a "Vivitar" 135MM lens for concerts...can never forget using a roll of 36 Kodak Ektachrome film back in the day. The challenge was after you took your first 36 pictures, could you unload it at a concert, and re-load your next roll of film without dropping it LOL! Yeah and a few "bong hits" didn't help either LOL! 20 or so years ago, Costco started taking slides and transferring them to a CD.... Glad I survived all of it back in the 70's...these concert pics and others are priceless to me.

  6. I do 45 minutes at 6mph on the treadmill every day, keeps my weight down as I am not doing anything else currently, and keeps my fitness up. No interest in weight training anymore, don’t want to aggravate my right shoulder as it can give me pain.

  7. There's also a very good hospital called "Samitivej" near Si Racha - The issue here is that it is not cheap, but the Neurologist there is second to none. The problem is in many Thai Hospitals is that with these kinds of cases they often opt for invasive treatment as a first rather than a last resort - with that comes increased costs. They'll run a CT and MRI, see what damage has been done or if it's an ongoing brain bleed and then will offer treatment. It's important to establish whether it's a TIA or stroke. I've a mate who has been to 3 different hospitals and had 3 different prognosis with 3 different costs attached. The guy at Saitivej basically found the issue which was down to a conflict of meds the previous Thai hospital had given him. Make sure he takes all his current meds with him, especially if he's on Apixaban or any other anti coagulant / thinner.

  9. Walking is the only thing I’m interested in now, to old to worry about gaining muscle. Plus I enjoy it as well.

  11. I have the Nikon D3300 that I bought years ago. For the amatuer work I do I'm very happy with it. Like you I've enjoyed photography since my HS days. Even had a darkroom in my parent's basement. Most days I use my waterproof Olympus Tough TG-5. The Nikon gets used when I want to take shots at night, long distance photos, and hash shirt photos. I have a makeshift studio setup in a spare bedroom for the shirt photos. Those get posted to the hash shirt webpage (link). Do you do anything to protect your gear from the heat and humidity when not in use? That was a big concern of mine as only two bedrooms in my home have A/C, which only gets turned on when we're in the room. To protect my gear I bought a dry cabinet (link) which seems to get the job done. After buying one I realized I should be storing a few bits of other electronic gear in the cabinet, so bought a larger one to hold everything. If anyone is interested, the smaller, 30L cabinet on the top shelf in the pic below is for sale.

  12. Circuits class called off late notice, maybe instructor was ill or something. So decided to go and test my running, see if i could do the same as i was before covid, which was the last time i was running on treadmills. Done 5km in 30mins, which pleased me, same as i used to do. And plus not long back from 3 weeks holiday, where apart from scuba, i didn't do any exercise. So getting back to fitness. Happy enough, though would have preferred an hour's circuits. HIIT tomorrow evening, have booked a spin class just incase the instructor is still off. Good cardio workout, a proper spin class where they get you as if cycling up a hill, and working your arms as well.

  13. I recall going into Classroom one night during CG 03, Chart was sat there looking forlorn and there was no staff. "what happened Chart?" - I asked "Americans barfined all the girls for a party". "Why you looking so sad then?" "Bastards didn't invite me to it". They had actually gone over the road to Planet Rock, whereupon they managed to fill all 3 floors of the place - so much so that the owner "Gop" pulled me in for an emergency run to Walking Street to round up 4 of her friends as they were struggling to keep up with the drinks service. We duly returned about 30 minutes later to what I can only describe as absolute bedlam. Instead of ordering spirits by the glass, the Yanks had ordered entire bottles and mixers. I reckon each table had at least 3 bottles of different spirits on them. Gop had pulled all the girls from Lipstick in, and seemingly half of the staff of Rodeo Girls as well. As this was during Purachai's social order campaign, the bar closed at around 02:00, only for the entire place to empty for a party at the Penthouse next door. I never went to the Party, but from what I gathered from the forums at the time, it was pretty good.

  16. I have somehow become a watermelon farmer now too... I have about four plants spidering their way aimlessly in all directions and I now have four or five watermelons growing quite big now.. The thing is M'Lady insists that she didn't plant any! My theory is that they came from a cow's arse! Y'see I mentioned about a month ago that I was distributing sacks of manure around the orchard for M'Lady to empty out for planting. These sacks are from her sister's cows next door and I've seen her brother feeding them watermelons!! I don't care as long as they taste nice !!!

  17. I am off to do 30 minutes on the treadmill at 6kph (not quite up to 6mph). Then about 30 minutes of fixed weights. Would be walking up my ridge for about 2 hours total, but the weather here in Wales is yet again wet and miserable. I do agree though that my fitness regime is better suited to walking distances rather than pushing weights. Seem to lose more weight when upping the walking.

  19. One month on and Win 10 is performing brilliantly. One thing I had forgotten about that was lost in Win 11 was the ability to drag maximised windows across multiple monitors. I just recently rediscovered and remembered that feature is baked into Win 10. Working with a triple monitor setup I'm often times moving windows around. It was annoying when Win 11 was installed to find out I had to first "Restore Down" a maximized window before I could drag it across to another monitor. Once placed on the other monitor I would then have to click to maximise it again. It was a small annoyance, but having to do that multiple times a day became a PITA. Can't imagine why the programmers of Win 11 removed that feature. Anyway, happy days again with Win 10.
