What's your baht worth? Exchange rates on the street...

The next BoE MPC rate announcement will be made on Thursday. I suspect that a 0.25% increase is already factored into the exchange rate as it looks certain. If they do as has been suggested by Big Mouth Bailey and raise rates by 0.5% then that might give Sterling a bit of a boost. Unless that's already factored in, too. And now various people are looking at Bailey's comments again and deciding that he was in no way promising a 0.5% rise, and that current economic data probably don't support it anyway, which might well mean the pound will drop sharply if a 0.25% rise is announced on Thursday. Really, you've got more chance of getting it right spinning a roulette wheel than you have with this Fx malarkey!

Amazing, the BoE makes the biggest rate rise in 25 years and the pound slumps by 5%. If the Thai Central Bank starts raising rates as widely predicted, the sick little Sterling pup will soon be back below 40 Baht. 😞

Every time the pound starts to climb, the baht gets adjusted to bring it back down again.
