When I bought my RG500 in 1989 after passing my test, it was a choice between that or an NS400R, those were the 2 I narrowed it down to. Both worth serious dough now, well into 5 figures depending on condition. Both pretty rare now. How much was it?.

It was not for sale, knowing the owner I doubt he will ever sell it.

And now for something completely different - here are two old mid-'60s scramblers that a friend of mine just finished restoring - the old Yamaha "Big Bear" was a local bike he'd been sitting on for years and didn't need much; having spent its life inland in our dry climate helped preserve it and he says that all that chrome just needed cleaning and polishing.

The Kawasaki, on the other hand, came from a coastal area of Alaska and was a different story - a lot more work to restore and he had to spend a fair bit to get the chrome pieces redone. Both bikes are running well now.

He's taking a big chance there leaving a Garmin Zumo GPS on the bike.....Hopefully it was still there on his return.

There were a few bikers stood eating fish and chips a few yards away keeping a watchful eye over things.

I drool over that, and have done since they first came back on the scene. I promised myself that if ever i won the lottery (one would need to !! ) i would buy two as in the above picture, one to use and one to put in my living room to just look at and caress........

Their website is still up and running, featuring 5 different models/versions now, so hopefully they are still producing these most beautiful machines.

Never seen that there before. Do get some proper rare bikes there sometimes. One time there was one of those Honda RCV213 MOTOGP replicas they made a few of a couple of years ago. About £145,000 they were then. Nearest to a GP bike that's ever been released.
