American Muscle Cars. There will never be another era of Automotive manufacturing that had such an effect upon society and Motoring in general.

In my opinion no I don't think we will ever have another era that will have the same affect on the motoring public.

This was sighted in Tree Town this afternoon.  Obviously in need of some attention to the bodywork.  Prime Facie is appears not dissimilar to the UK Ford Cortina, however I do not recall the Ford Cortina having wing mirrors fitted as on the photograph.  Also the front lights appear to have been modified.  Additionally the badge on the front grill is not standard as per the UK Ford Cortina.

The cortina was badged in the UK as such, and as the Taunus in parts of Europe. Ford I think changed the names for marketing etc, but I don't think it was ever badged as a Mustang derivative - this one may have had the badge added with the aftermarket or adapted grille or lights and relocation of the sidelights and indicators under the bumper.

Mirrors on the wings are an addition, and possibly a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) type of styling whereby many JDM cars have mirros mounted there.

This looks like a Mark 5 with the slightly slimmer C Pillar as opposed to the mark 4, plus on the front wing the holes for the extended bumper which the 5's had over the shorter bumpered 4, but tbh my Cortina-fu is pretty abysmal so if anyone knows different then they're probably right.

Your eyes aren't fooling you John, it is indeed a Cortina styled car, or would be called one in the UK. A rear photo will tell 100% unless the rear lights have also been changed.

The colour sucks, and I expect it to be a big bag of poop like pretty much all Cortinas from that era were. Apart from the Ghia models.

Rear lights swapped out for what appear to be Ford Escort Mark 2 lights. Rear bumper could be from either, but the style of the rear panel points to mark 5 (to accommodate the longer light lenses).

An interesting find John, shame someone has butchered it a bit. Can't get over the choice of colour though...

There are some very interesting cars dotted about Pattaya. I might go and find a few on my next trip.

Lovely cars, the V6 was very smooth engine and some people swapped the Essex V6 into it, but the increased power would occasionally rip the rear void bushes out. the 2.3 Ghia was a rare sight back then, let alone today.

There's a guy on YT who restores them from complete wrecks into gorgeous cars, usually done as a project over a couple of years and all documented. His skill levels are well up there with "Jedi Master". Worth a watch if you want a bit of nostalgia "project bramble" is briliant.

If it were my car and a motor cycle was parked so close I would be on a knife edge.  Some of the early shots were taken with the motor cycle in situ, so some relatively unusual angles.  The motor cyclist offered to move and I gladly accepted his offer.  Highlight of the mornings' photographs in my opinion.

Lovely old bus, well cared for and some gorgeous lines and styling.

An iconic 50's British Ford Popular. It was my first ever car at 18yo given to me by an uncle. Needless to say i went about tarting it up in an attempt at making it different.

Apologies for the pic quality but my Kodak Brownie 127 was'nt up to much lol
