Pre HIV, pre internet, all information came by word of mouth and this probably led to many misunderstandings and myths. First trip stayed at a guest house Soi 38 Sukhumvit which was still a dirt road with very little development beyond the Mui Thai Academy a hundred yards in . Happy Days. Ultimately I plan to retire to Thailand (but also will consider Bali, Cambodia and Vietnam) but, unfortunately personal circumstance mean I'm stuck in the UK for a few more year.
