On a general footballing note.

As long as young players coming into the game continually see Premier League players openly giving the officials verbal abuse then there won't be anybody willing to give up their free time to referee a local match.

Lingard for one should have gotten another yellow for continually telling the ref to f**k off..

Can understand their frustration, was watching the TV lunchtime game on SKY earlier, Huddersfield Vs Sheffield United. Referee was shocking, Huddersfield Had a perfect goal disallowed and a blatant penalty not given. So can see why they rant and rave.

Some decisions are obviously wrong ...... but ranting and raving at the ref isn't going to change the decision...It is such an important "life lesson" too!!

Would you be willing to ref a local match nowadays? f**k that for a game of soldiers........

And as far as a game of soldiers is concerned I served Green Army on the streets during the Hunger Strikes so know a thing or two about verbal abuse.

Just been watching the FIFA World Club Cup in UAE on channel 4.

Good to see us win another trophy but the thing that I laugh about is Porn saying the voice of the woman interviewing the players afterwards was terrible and annoying. It is something I notice as well, these women interviewing and commentating, their voices are really irritating, it is something that just sounds so wrong to me and I find that many times I switch the sound down.

I went to watch my 10 year old grandson play for his local team.

The abuse the referee took from some of the parents was disgraceful and embarrassing.

Playing in a competitive league on full size pitches is useless. Some of the poor kids hardly touched the ball.
