I fell asleep when UTD were 3 - 2 up so was quite shocked at the final result when I woke up at 6am....... I celebrated UTDs misery by watering all the thirsty trees and shrubs in the orchard for 30 minutes until a swarm of red ands made their way up my legs intent on having my dangleberries for breakfast to remind me that experiencing schadenfreude really isn't a good thing !! So I've come in after hosing myself down outside !!!5 points

I don't know what Wise did to their website yesterday, but having used it a hundred times before it had a different appearance. The 'Send Money' button didn't work, so I messed about with the 'Add Money' button and that worked, but it just took my £1,000 and added it to my account on Wise instead of converting it into THB and sending it here as I thought I'd asked. Eventually, I managed to send the balance of £1,000 in my Wise account (which I've never used before) to my SCB account, but then it was asking me when I was going to send it the £1,000 I'd wanted transferred into THB? So I cancelled that transfer but this morning they've sent me an e-mail congratulating me on having a balance of £1,000 in my Wise account, even though I transferred it to THB yesterday. Talk about disconnected idiots, why did they do this? It made me think of this short but amusing article by Martin Samuel in this morning's Times about his Mercedes EV.

A out to pop into the bank to arrange a mortgage... The car had sat for the 5 months I was away, with a mate driving it once a month round the block. Since I've been back the brakes have been graunching badly... like there's rust on the discs. New discs and pads needed all round. But... the wheel nuts had been done up too tight, and had rusted, so had to be broken off.... Bill for 1 mot....£650. The joys of living by the sea....2 points

my old passport wouldn’t scan at LHR for the past 4 years, renewed earlier this year and still doesn’t scan. I think my name has a marker as a trainee immigration officer asker their trainer if “that was ok?” Pointing at something on the screen against my name. I couldn’t see what it was but I think someone with my name is on the wanted list….it’s not me honest!2 points

Wise have a comparison tool which will show you what you'll get for your money compared to other services. They're often not the best but speed, ease of use and reliability should also be taken into account. I personally never hold money in Wise and do an online transfer to fund it as required. Still instantanious up to 50,000THB at the moment but I've noticed the cut off point between instant/next day has varied in the past. 50,000THB is also the maximum limit that can be sent via Wise to banks other than Bangkok, Kasikorn and Siam.

That looks good but personally I'd ask for the mushrooms to be fried for at least 10 more minutes so that they resemble the picture ... and the sausages .... and the white pudding ... In fact it looks more like a warm-up than a fry-up.. But that is my personal taste and I'm damned sure that you enjoyed it !!!2 points

Hate to ask the inevitable question and be " Danny The Downer" today but.......how loud is the music going to be in this echo chamber? I suspect loud, Thai standard as usual. You will not be able to talk to your neighbor at all. Last April at Frog's Land, wifey and I stopped by for a drink....check bin please after 1 drink. I could not hear a word she was saying...some might think that's a good thing LOL! And........check with Bruno Mar's bookie and make a bet......does an Elvis impersonator make an appearance on opening night?

Shocked to see Chelsea auditioning for a magic show and pulling a rabbit out of the hat, I mean two goals in the 110th and 111th minutes to win a game 4 v 3 when being 2 v 3 down after 109 minutes. Great result but you could see Eric the red was not happy with how his team let the lead slip. Basically two teams with up and down seasons. Just up for Chelsea today, probably down in next game. Premier League is amazing though.2 points

I use Wise as well , if you transfer under £1k it gets there in seconds, £2k seems to take a couple of days ... fees are good and exchange rate is close to interbank2 points

In my opinion it is. Been using a Wise account for at least 3 years. I transfer from my Revolut acc to my Wise (no fees, usually takes minutes). Then when needed transfer from Wise to my Krung Thai account, usually takes seconds, occasionally an hour or 2. Great exchange rate and very competitive fees. I will pm you a link if you want 😃😇 edit : I have a wise card as well which I do use in the UK but never tried in an atm in Thailand2 points

It is an odd design. Every bar beer distribution point (BDP) offers the same beer at the same price for customers to drink in what looks like a shared common space. The only distinguishing charateristic between each of the cookie cutter BDP's is a cookie cutter sign with a different name above each BDP. If I were an prospective owner, I'd be hard pressed to see the value propistion of buying a BDP in the LV Beer Garden.2 points
