Brunch at a traditional 'diner' today in San Carlos, California.

Italian sausage scramble, hash browns, toast...

Nice looking scramble, and real hash browns.

I used to go into a diner on the main strip, Carbondale Il. (Maryann's, I think it was called). You'd walk in and could see the grill covered with golden colored hashbrowns cooked in lard and real American bacon.

Piece of heaven.

Perfection on a plate!!

The chow mein looks lush !! It looks as good as the sausage place on Lengkee but they only start that menu at 4pm and I'm incapable of walking by that time !!!

Yes it was top notch and the only time I get to eat Chinese these days. I like a variety of dishes, so ordering just for me isn't really practical.

Food was good but Yorkshire pud soggy.

The soggiest Yorkshire I ever had was in Rosies next to the Pig and Whistle.( Any body reading this from Yorkshire turn your head away now..!!!!)

I think they intended to deep fry it but they must have put it in the oil before they turned the heat on ....It had sucked up all the cold cooking oil like a sponge. It was wetter than my Golden Retriever coming out of the water, dripping wet everywhere ..
