Still 7 raced to go so it's not over yet. But it will be if Red Bull can keep up their dominance Ferrari had the fastest car at the start but couldn't bring it home with Leclerc making driver errors. He is young so hopefully will settle down, but they seem to be very disorganised as a team which surprises me! Red Bull showing total dominance now and are unlikely to run into reliability problems, the fat lady is warming those vocals up methinks. Been a good watch with the new rules and hopefully will get even better.
Nightcrawler
The new season of F1 kicked off at the weekend and it was great to see Fernando Alonso fighting it out with the vest of them in the much improved Aston Martin car. He provided much of the action and ended up on the podium after Leclerc surprise engine failure during the last few laps. Alonso's team mate also did pretty well considering his injuries. Another pretty faultless win for Max again with Red Bull first and second.

Le Clerc was plagued with car troubles at the start of last year too from memory. Great drive from Alonso.

Golfingboy
Was not aware of F1 having trading cards for their athletes……A 17 year old boy about a 5 hour drive east of Montreal, bought a pack for under $50 in 2021, and just received over $1M from an American collector, for a rare Lewis Hamilton…… Unreal
coxyhog
Another boring procession at the Hungary GP yesterday. However after that I watched the Iowa Indicar 250,which was much more exciting, especially when a mechanic left a wheel nut off😂.

It's getting quite predictable this season although Mc Claren are now up in the top mix. Verstappen is unstoppable as usual
CampariO
Anybody got a good link to watch F1 FOC? I usually use Kodi wtih the Sport HD add-on today but all streams in the live events and alternative live events gave an error message. Strange. Not so familiar with Kodi, maybe have to do something different. I then used the following link on the web which usually works with an ok picture quality but sometimes a lot of buffering which is annoying: https://heng99u.com/doball/ch082/

Was watching IIRC Watkins Glen about a month ago…..innocent looking sequence ended with a car intentionally grazing a wall to slow down, instead of smacking into one head-on……great thought process by the young man. What had happened was(I believe) his whole brake assembly flew off, poor bugger knew he could not stop
Nightcrawler
Verstappen breaks all time record with 10 wins in a row afterr his P1 in Italy yesterday, only a few races to go before an inevitable 2023 championship victory. Ferrari put on a good show on home tarmac but Red Bull again too strong. Sainz and Leclerc put on an exciting head to head battle for 3rd place on the last couple of laps.

biggles
I guess it's always the same when one team/driver is so dominant. I felt the same way about the Merc/Hamilton era

Nightcrawler
Both Red Bull drivers were knocked out of Q2 yesterday and will start way the pack on the Singapore circuit which is difficult for overtaking. Will be an interesting race with far less predictably and a likely win for Ferrari, but who knows.

My late Dad and I loved this guy and his late father, but he really went down in my books when I found out he hides his millions in tax havens......and collected a tax benefit from Quebec for low-income earners.....How greedy can you get? Mr. Smooth
The next F1 race is tonight, 10 pm Saturday, here in Las Vegas. And in the months leading up to this race, it has been a total mess for locals. Traffic conditions with roads either closed off totally or detours in place that make it nearly impossible for some casino employees on the Strip to get to work, the hundreds of millions spent to hold this thing, the gouging of customers for rooms, tickets, parking ($100 USD to self park at a couple of the casino parking lots like The Bellagio, or $150 for valet.....JUST TO PARK YOUR FREAKING CAR!!!! Locals here are fed up with this disruption to their lives and hope that the 3 year contract F1 has with the city is over and done after this race. I know this sport is a much bigger deal in the rest of the world, and having the race not start until 10 pm local time was due to getting the visual of the neon lights of the Strip on tv, but 10 pm in Vegas is 1 am, Sunday morning in Brazil and 6-7 am Sunday morning in the population centers of Western Europe, as well as West Africa, and only an hour or two later in East Africa and the Middle East. I think most folks will still be in bed after a night out at the pub on Saturday and the largest audience to watch will most likely be in the Middle East and Asia-Australia. I'll probably tune in as the race will be taking place only about 5-6 miles from where I live, but for many having to put up with the inconvenience this race has placed upon the people who live here, I think the overwhelming opinion is that they hope it's a one and done deal.

bob lt
The treatment of Carlos Sainz is a disgrace. Apparently the rules don't allow for a free pass for the engine change hence a 10 place grid penalty and a repair bill over 1,000,000 GBP. I reckon the organisers should foot the repair bill but wait, the organisers are Liberty Media in this case, the owners of Formula 1.
