Funny enough, I popped in to Ford on the way to golf around 1996, the sales guy said a base 5 litre V8 coupe could be had for as little as $26K….CAD! Now a loaded V8 convertible is in the low $60’s, but is also faster than most Ferraris from 25 years ago I’ve never seen the point of spending $150K+ on a Shelby or other specialty Mustang, might as well go Corvette or more exotic.
