Electrical Leakage on Chonburi Footbridge Prompts Call for Repair

I have my doubts about the claims of electric leakage as these are utility lines, most of them fibre, and not electric lines. But still, using the steel posts of the railing as an anchor point for the lines...

And apparently it's not dangerous to non-Thai speakers...

I'm surprised that someone hasn't connected a wire to the railing and are running their shop with the free electricity.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it would appear they overloaded the emergency bridge with 35 children when they attempted to raise the bridge with the children on it. I suspect the bridge can only handle a load such as that when both ends have been placed on the ground. If true, that is something the operator of the emergency bridge should have been aware of.

There was a report about a month ago about the same guy. The most recent Pattaya News FB post invited reader feedback. Interesting to read some of the comments that seek to justify this guy driving a Bentley around with a lion in the backseat. It seems to me this guy has a serious case of the look at me syndrome.

Geez...and I thought @Nightcrawler traveled solo...

. . .

Thai social media is on fire again on Tuesday after a photo showing two male Western tourists wearing nothing but either a brief or short swimwear while putting their luggages (sic) on trolleys at Phuket International Airport spread. Thai netizens ask whether it's their rights or it's simply inappropriate.

One wrote the two would have been arrested if they were Thai. Another said they are brainless and disrespectful. Yet another said they simply don't understand Thai culture and should be politely given advice.

On Thursday, the right leg of a 15-year-old student went through a broken steel grating over the drainpipe and stuck in it in front of J.J. Steak Restaurant on Kao Kilo Road, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province.

Later, rescuers arrived to assist in cutting and spreading the grating while the girl cried and wept aloud, her father cuddling and comforting her. When she pulled her leg up, the rescuers provided first aid and transported her to the hospital. They also alerted the local municipality to come down and make the necessary repairs

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it absurd that a campaign to combat one of the contributors to air pollution, illegal fires, involves starting a forest fire. Amazing Thailand.

Chonburi Authorities Launch Campaign to Tackle Forest Fires, Haze, and PM2.5

I remember many years ago watching a programme on tv about reducing forest fires in Canadian forests.
They dropped small capsules approximately the size of a shotgun cartridge, that on contact with the ground, burst into flames and set alight the leaves and brush that was on the ground. The idea being that by keeping the amount of leaf litter etc on the ground to small amounts by burning them, it reduced the ability of fires spreading out of control.
As I recall, they carried out tests over several years and found it to be effective.

They do controlled burns in western US for the same reason. And here's a new word for the day, "Pyrophyte".

Holy shitbags, I didn't know that. I share my 5 acres with Pyrophytes.

Unfortunately, they can't resist Phytophthora.

But no...it was a local job... 😉

On Monday, police officials at Bangkok's Bang Yi Khan Police Station detained Mr. O, 38, of Samut Sakhon after discovering that the suspect had been stealing women's underwear for more than 20 years. O was recently caught stealing underwear from a residence in Soi Somdet Phra Pinklao 1. The woman who owned the bra noticed him and reported him to the police.

When the police searched Mr. O's room, they found a lot of underwear: 516 women's bras, 72 women's pants, and 3 women's pyjamas.

Mr. O stated that he began stealing underwear as a teenager. He has gone out at night to steal and collect items since they enjoy the smell. The police then charged him with residence invasion and theft at night. #underwearpants #lingeriecollection #bangkok #thailand
